Fairview Offers Candy to Troops, Book Exchange Program

From Oct. 31 through Nov. 10, unopened Halloween candy can be donated at select Fairview Clinics to be sent to U.S. troops serving overseas. Each child who donates his or her candy will receive an age-appropriate book, according to a press release from Fairview

The Fairview Clinics participating in the exchange include Bass Lake (Maple Grove), Brooklyn Park, Rogers, Apple Valley, Andover, Blaine, Bloomington Oxboro, Bloomington Lake - Minneapolis, Bloomington Lake  Xerxes, Burnsville, Chisago Lakes, Columbia Heights, Eden Prairie, Elk River, Farmington, Fridley, Hugo, Lakeville, Lino Lakes, Milaca, New Brighton, North Branch, Pine City, Princeton, Prior Lake, Rush City, Savage, University Children's (Minneapolis), and Zimmerman. 

In 2016, more than 1,200 pounds of candy was distributed to troops. 

Those wishing to participate can stop by the clinic for the candy-book swap during clinic hours. Visit fairview.org/clinic to find hours for all clinics.
