Winter Break Activities in Maple Grove

It's winter break! While the weather may cold outside, there are a variety events and activities around Maple Grove for both indoor and outdoor enthusiasts. 

The tubing hill at Elm Creek Park reserve has holiday hours from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m until Jan. 2, 2018. The cost is $15 per person for a two-hour pass and can be purchased at the Elm Creek Park District chalet. Riders must be at least 4 years of age or 36" tall, according to Three Rivers Park District. The Central Park Ice Skating Loop, located at 12000 Central Park Way, has holiday hours 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. (weather permitting) on non-school days - including New Year's Eve and Day. The LED lit refrigerated ice loop is 20 feet wide and 810 feet long, designed for leisure skating, according to the city of Maple Grove.  (no hockey sticks or pucks). Skating is free and skate rental is available.

The Maple Grove Library hosts a Stuffed Animal Sleepover for grades K through grade 2 on Dec. 30. The event is free, but registration is limited.

At the Eastman Nature Center, a free Last Chance Hike is scheduled for the afternoon Dec. 31 for all ages.

Throughout winter break, several options are available at the Maple Grove Community Center, including a New Year's Eve Celebration. The Maple Maze, Grove Cove Aquatic Center, indoor Ice Rink, Teen Center, and more provide indoor opportunities. More information here: http://www.maplegrovemn.gov/community-center

In addition to tubing, the Elm Creek Park Reserve Winter Recreation area has skiing, sledding, and snowboarding options available.
