Throughout 2016, the Maple Grove City Council approved several items relating to an upcoming planned project for Schuler Shoes.

The proposed project by Schuler Shoes includes platting and developing a multi-acre site (adjacent to the southeast corner of the Village at Arbor Lakes) to build a two-story, 26,000 square foot corporate office and retail building, according to documents provided to the council,

Once again, the prospective project came before the council at the Dec. 18, 2017 meeting, with a request an extension of Planned Unit Development (PUD) portion of the process.

“During our application process the architect shared that the project would not enter the construction phase until at least 2018 or later, thus the reason for the extension,” Schuler Shoes President, Marketing and Operations Michael Schuler wrote in a letter to the council. “We are moving forward with the project and are in the design phase, have successfully secured the land, and are very excited about the project.”

The Maple Grove City Council approved the extension as part of the consent agenda at the Dec. 18 meeting.
