Throughout the year, the foundation hosts several fundraising events. Feb. 9, District 279 Foundation’s ‘A Night Out…Mission Possible’ is scheduled to take place and features a silent auction, dinner, and brief program.
"District 279 Foundation provides resources for students and educators to develop exciting classroom experiences. For example, funds raised at this event will help provide new experiences for students like a class of sixth graders who received funding for packets of historical artifacts, articles, maps, letters, government documents and photographs from the Minnesota Historical Society’s education department. These literal pieces of history related to civil rights, American Indians, war and the fur trade brought history into the hands of 11-year-old students and connected them with history in a meaningful way," District 279 Foundation Executive Director Brian Siverson-Hall said.
Proceeds will provide classroom grants and literacy programs that inspire students and spark deeper learning, according to organizers.
"We look forward to hosting district employees, community members and corporate partners at our A Night Out Mission Possible event," Siverson-Hall said. "Funds raised from this special event will provide access to educational experiences that inspire students and spark deeper learning."
