As gravel mining concludes in some areas of Maple Grove, new plans are beginning to take shape.
Last August, the Maple Grove City Council accepted the gravel mining area (GMA) tax increment financing (TIF) special legislation amendment and established theproject area – paving the way for potential new developments.
“The City received a TIF application from Duke Realty for the first phase in the Arbor Lakes Business Park on the southeast corner of Elm Creek Boulevard and Zachary Lane North,” according to documents presented to the council at the Jan. 2 Maple Grove City Council meeting. “The project would involve the construction of two buildings to contain office, research and development, assembly, and light manufacturing-type uses. Illume has been identified as the tenant in the first building.”
The deferral and revision of the project delayed the initial public hearing planned for the fall and early winter of 2017.
At the Jan. 2 meeting, the Maple Grove City Council set a public hearing for 7:30 p.m. Feb. 2, 2018 on the “proposed establishment of the GMA TIF District and the adoption of the associated TIF Plan,” according to the meeting minutes.
