Animal Chase, Wrong Lane, Forced Entry: Maple Grove Police Department Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents that occurred in Maple Grove during the week of January 21-27, 2018.

January 21
Weaver Lake Road and I-94. Report of vehicle driving in the wrong lane and stopping in the center median. Officer made contact with driver, who was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for DWI.

17200 block of 77th Avenue. Report of verbal disagreement. Officer responded, nothing physical had occurred, both parties agreed to separate for the evening.

January 22
15300 block of 108th Place. Report of forced entry into home and two heaters stolen. No suspect information.

8400 block of Upland Lane. Report of harassing communications from former co-worker.  Officer attempted to make contact with suspect and the victim was further advised.

9500 block of Blackoaks Lane. Report of animal by entrance of business chasing customers. Officer arrived, found muskrat sitting next to the door and then ran away.

63rd Avenue and Magda Drive. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver who had failed to stop at stop sign. The individual was found to be intoxicated and was arrested for DWI.  

January 23
16500 block of 96th Avenue. Report of merchandise stolen from retail store, incident is under investigation.

7300 block of Shadyview Lane. Report of one who had fallen but was uninjured.  Officer arrived and helped the individual into a chair, no further assistance needed.

January 24
16500 block of 96th Avenue. Report of theft that occurred at retail store and suspect fled. Officers responded and apprehended the individual who was arrested for theft.

11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of individual being addressed with obscenities multiple times by customer. Officer made contact and found the suspect was no longer on scene. Advised to contact police if further issues.

January 25
12000 block of 80th Avenue. Report of credit card fraudulently opened in person’s name and charges made to an account. Incident is under investigation.

8400 block of Xene Lane. Report of large sum of money fraudulently transferred from individual’s bank account. The financial institution is following up on the incident.

12500 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of an opossum living under deck of residence. Officer responded, advised to use trap for relocation, wildlife contact information provided. 

January 26
9400 block of Rosewood Lane. Report of item stolen from package on front step, no suspect information.

9200 block of 203rd Avenue. Report of unwanted person. Officer made contact and found family members had an argument and wanted one of the individuals to leave the residence. The party left without further incident.

96th Avenue and Maple Grove Parkway. Report of property damage accident.  Officer responded and found the striking vehicle was operated by an intoxicated male who was arrested for DWI.

January 27
7800 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of a parked vehicle running with headlights on in the back of parking lot for an hour, unknown if occupied.  Officer responded and found it was a guest who was watching a movie while smoking cigarettes, no problems.

6600 block of Annapolis Lane. Report of license plate stolen from vehicle, no suspect information.

13700 block of 83rd Way. Report of wallet and cell phone stolen from purse when individual left it unattended at retail store, subsequent fraudulent activity was noted on credit cards. Incident under investigation.

13500 block of 83rd Way. Report of customer problem. Officer responded and found there had been a mix-up in an order and an argument had ensued. The parties involved came to an agreement and the customers left.

During this time period there were 32 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
