Rivalry Part Two: Osseo, Maple Grove Prepare to Renew Rivalry

One of the best basketball rivalries in the state resumes Tuesday, Feb. 20 as the Osseo Orioles travel to Maple Grove to face the Crimson in a double-header.

About The Rivalry:
Since the 2010 season, these two teams have split their season series each year. The first contest went the way of the Crimson 55-25 back in January.

The Orioles last win came on Dec.19. The Orioles are led offensively by sophomore Jaiden Kline (10 PPG), junior Hajaysen Kwateh (6.2 PPG) and freshman Anna Corona (6.2 PPG).











About Maple Grove

The Crimson have won four of their past five games and are led by seniors Autumn Mlinar (15.9 PPG) and Katrina Theis (15.1 PPG).

About The Rivalry
After a Maple Grove sweep last year, the Orioles defeated the Crimson 73-55 in January. The Orioles have had the better of the rivalry in 12 of the past 17 contests.

 About Osseo
The Orioles are led by one of the best back courts in the state in seniors Zach Theisen and Emmette Page. Theisen (20.7 PPG) injured his knee on Feb. 8 and has not played since. As of this post, it is unknown if he will see the floor. Page (22.1 PPG) has upped his average to 29 per game in the three games since Theisen’s injury.
