Two Osseo Senior High ceramics students, Alexa Paulson and Emma Hauser, were recently selected to take part in the 21th Annual National K-12 Ceramic Exhibition.

"I was so surprised that my piece got picked for the exhibition, my mom told me the amazing news and my first instinct was to call Emma," Alexa said (piece pictured left).

"I was shocked that I got into a national exhibition, I got a call form Alexa and she was the first person to tell me and I was pretty excited for the both of us," Emma said (piece pictured below).

Paulson’s “Fluxing Sphere” and Hauser’s “Pierced Vase” pieces will be on display in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania at David L. Lawrence Convention Center March 14-16.

"I am very proud of the girls’ hard work," OSH Art Teacher Daniel Prody. "I am excited to see it pay off for them!"

Each piece took took about a week for both students to complete for their AP portfolio.

The annual juried ceramic competition is designed to showcase the best K-12 ceramic work made in the country. This year, there were more than 1,200 entries.
