Disturbance, Theft, Scam: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents reported to the Maple Grove Police Department that occurred in Maple Grove during the week of Feb. 25 - March 3, 2018. 

February 25
9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of several juveniles running through business yelling, play fighting and crashing carts. Parent notified, apologized and left business. 

February 26
11800 block of 80th Avenue. Report of credit cards still in possession of owner, being used in the Twin City area. Case under investigation. 

7300 block of Zanzibar Lane. Report of items taken from unlocked vehicle in driveway overnight. Case under investigation. 

16000 block of 96th Avenue. Report of individual inside store concealing items and leaving without paying. Case under investigation. 

13000 block of 80th Circle. Report of individual concealing items and leaving business without paying.  Suspect identified, charges pending.

February 27
13000 block of Grove Drive. Report of window shattered on vehicle at business and gun stolen from inside. 

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of person buying gift cards to pay IRS.  Officers arrived and informed party that this is a scam and not to buy the gift cards.

15000 block of Grove Circle. Report of person concealing items and leaving business without paying.  Officers located individual and arrested them for theft.

February 28
15000 block of 72nd Place. While on routine patrol officer noticed garage door open at residence. Officers knocked and rang doorbell several times, officers entered residence through garage service door, and owners came out and were thankful to officers for looking out for them.

6300 block of Vinewood Lane. Officers were dispatched to a suspicious occupied running vehicle in parking lot.  When officers arrived, individual was sleeping, individual arrested for DWI.

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of individuals in store concealing items, then leaving without paying for items, then left in a vehicle. Officer located vehicle, parties arrested for theft, counterfeit bills and drugs.

8000 block of Main Street. Report of damage to vehicle while parked in business lot. No suspects. 

March 1
I-94 and Maple Grove Parkway. Report of a three-car accident in area. Officers made contact with individuals who were not injured. One party arrested for DWI.

17000 block of 76th Avenue. Report of vehicle running in driveway for hours. Officers arrived and made contact with homeowners who just forgot to turn off the vehicle and thanked officers.

11000 block of Fountains Way. Report of customer disrupting business and wanted them removed.  Officers arrived and party uncooperative and would not leave. Individual touched officer’s belt, who was arrested for obstruction.

March 2
11300 block of Fountains Way. Report of vehicle parked in business parking lot at closing time over the last two weeks. Extra patrol was requested. Vehicle was not located.

77th Avenue and Fountains Drive. Officers responded to a vehicle that had left the road and was stuck in the snow.  Officers responded, person arrested for DWI.

11800 Fountains Way. Report of a group of people eating a large meal and then left without paying. No suspects at this time.

March 3
11700 block of Central Park Way. Report of a person sleeping in the hallway of building. Officers made contact and learned party had warrants and drugs and was arrested. 

12000 block of Weaver Lake Road. Report of 40-50 juveniles causing a scene, being loud and disruptive at business. Officers made contact, juveniles were told to leave the property, in which they did with no problems.

11000 block of 82nd Place. Report of a vehicle that circled the block several times and parked around the block. Driver then walked several house away and entered a residence.  Officer made contact with driver who needed more parking space for her company.

12400 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of employee at business who was drunk, yelling, swearing and would not leave.  Officers made contact with unruly person who was fired, trespassed from business and left the area.

During this time period there were 29 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
