Last fall, Superintendent Kate Maguire announced her intent to retire June 30, 2018.

As part of the search for a new superintendent, the ISD 279 School Board has named six superintendent finalists.

"The search firm of Ray and Associates, Inc. vetted 28 applicants based on their experience, academic background, and the qualities and criteria the school board had identified in its preferred superintendent profile," Osseo Area Schools stated in a press release. "After screening by the search firm, ten candidates were given further consideration by the school board."

Six individuals were invited to participate in first-round interview candidates.

The candidates, according to ISD 279, are:

Rupak Gandhi, research, data and accountability officer at Harrison School District Two, Colorado Springs, CO

James Harris, superintendent, Daniel Boone Area School District, Douglassville, PA

Krish Mohip, chief executive officer, Youngstown City Schools, Youngstown, OH

Kelli Parpart, assistant superintendent, Osseo Area Schools, Maple Grove, MN

Erick Pruitt, area superintendent, Houston Independent School District, Houston, TX

Marc Schaffer, assistant superintendent, Boulder Valley School District, Boulder, CO

The first-round interviews conducted by the school board are scheduled to take place 5 p.m. April 2 and 3.

Finalists will be interviewed starting at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 10. Each finalist will return at 5 p.m. for a brief presentation, including a moderated question and answer component.

Interview sessions are open to the public in the Educational Service Center Board Room,  11200 93rd Avenue North, Maple Grove.

After each interview and/or presentation, audience members will have an opportunity to provide written feedback on each finalist, according to ISD 279.
