Vandalism, Stuck Animal, Forgery: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of March 11-17, 2018.

March 11
6200 block of Eagle Lake Drive. Report of possible shot heard in the area.  Officers responded and discovered that a driver had crashed vehicle in parking lot. The individual was arrested for DUI.

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of damage to property. Officer responded found front door and window shattered at business. Incident is under investigation.

Zachary Lane and 85th Avenue. Report of possible intoxicated male hitchhiking.  Officer responded and found that the individual had been drinking, he lost his phone and unable to call for a ride. He was transported to a local restaurant, where he was able to contact a friend. No further assistance needed.

11300 block of Fountains Drive. Report of counterfeit bill passed at business. Incident under investigation.

March 12
Hemlock Lane and Red Fox Drive. Report of welfare check. Officer responded, observed vehicle drifting between lanes. Contact made with the driver, who was arrested for DWI.

7200 block of Weston Lane. Report of an injured owl. Officer responded, the owl had hit a window of the residence. Officer unable to locate the owl.

7100 block of Carey Lane. Report of check stolen from mailbox and it was attempted to be cashed at an area bank. No suspect identified.

12500 block of 74th Avenue. Report of several items stolen from vehicle overnight. No suspect information.

10300 block of Boundary Creek Terrace. Report of opossum stuck in window well.  Officer responded and was able to capture the animal and the homeowner was going to transport to a refuge center, as it appeared injured.

12700 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifter in custody.  Officer responded, suspect was arrested for theft and trespassed from the business. 

March 13
12500 block of 74th Avenue. Report of vehicle stolen from outside of residence. No suspect information.

16600 block of 92nd Avenue. Report of license plate stolen from vehicle; no suspect information.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of credit card used fraudulently at place of business following theft of wallet in another jurisdiction. No suspect information.

March 14
16400 block of County Road 30. Report of shoplifting in which the two suspects exited the store with unpaid merchandise. The incident is under investigation.

Interstate 94. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver of a vehicle who was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

March 15
18000 block of 70th Avenue. Report of suspicious vehicle following individual while out for a walk. Officer responded but did not locate the suspicious vehicle.  

7800 block of Main Street. Report of individual’s coat and gloves stolen while at place of business. No suspect information.

12700 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of merchandise stolen from store. Incident is under investigation.

March 16
9800 block of Hospital Drive. Report of license plate stolen from vehicle while parked at place of employment. No suspect information.

8000 block of Main Street. Report of suspicious vehicle parked and running in ramp for approximately two hours. Officer made contact with the individual inside of vehicle, who stated they were just tired and taking a nap. No further assistance needed.

7000 block of Main Street. Report of wallet and contents stolen from individual while at place of business, fraudulent credit card transactions. Incident is under investigation.

11000 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of gas drive-off. Officer responded but was unable to locate the vehicle. Incident is under investigation.

Arbor Lakes Parkway and Main Street. Officer on routine patrol observed traffic violation. Contact made with driver, who was arrested for DWI.

March 17
I-94 and Maple Grove Parkway. Officer on routine patrol observed traffic violation. Contact made with driver, who was cited for traffic violation and driving after revocation. In addition to occupants of the vehicle that were arrested on multiple drug charges.

14900 block of 63rd Place. Report of two jackets and a phone charger stolen overnight from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway of residence. No suspect information. 

13500 block of Grove Drive. Report of wallet stolen while at place of business and fraudulent activity on credit cards. Incident is under investigation.

Bass Lake Road and Highway 169. Officer on routine patrol observed erratic driving of vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who was arrested for DWI.

During this time period there were 20 property damage traffic accidents and two property damage injury traffic accidents.
