Counterfeit Currency, DWI, Possum: Maple Grove Police Department Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of March 18-24, 2018.

March 18
85th Avenue and Jefferson Highway. Officer on routine patrol observed erratic driving conduct. Contact made with the driver who was arrested for DWI.

7400 block of Kilmer Lane. Report of disgruntled employee refusing to leave and causing a disturbance at place of business. Upon officer’s arrival, the individual had left the property and no contact was made. Advised to call police if they returned. 

15000 block of Elm Road. Report of vehicle gone through with no apparent loss. Unknown suspect.

11900 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of phone stolen when left on counter at business. Follow-up investigation is being conducted.

16300 block of 96th Avenue. Report of possum at place of business with plastic sundae lid stuck on its head. Officer responded and was able to cut the cover off and transport the animal to a nearby swamp.

County Road 30 and Peony Lane. Report of driving complaint. Officer made contact with the driver of the vehicle who was arrested for DWI.

March 19
7800 block of Main Street. Report of customer falling inside place of business and then causing a disturbance. Officer responded and spoke with the individual who refused medical care. Advised to make a report with corporate.

6700 block of Troy Lane. Report of vehicle running in driveway for an extended period of time, no answer at residence.  Officer was able to contact homeowner who stated the vehicle has an auto start, unknown how it turned on. No further assistance needed.

March 20
9300 block of Upland. Report of gas drive off. Incident is under investigation.

16700 block of 94th Avenue. Report of credit card used fraudulently at local businesses, the card had been stolen in different jurisdiction.  The incident is under investigation.

March 21
11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of counterfeit currency passed at place of business. Incident is under investigation.

10800 block of 97th Place. Report of intoxicated male ringing doorbell of residence. Officer responded and a friend was contacted to transport the individual home safely.

March 22
7700 Block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of damage to a wooden ledge in building lobby. No suspect information.

March 23
11800 block of 91st Avenue. Report of an accident. Officers responded and the driver of one of the vehicles involved was arrested for DWI.

13600 block of 80th Circle. Report of theft in progress at business. Officer responded and the suspect was arrested for theft and possession of shoplifting gear. 

11900 block of Main Street. Report of intoxicated male leaving business who was believed to be entering his vehicle to drive away. Officer made contact with the individual as he was observed driving without headlights. The individual was arrested for DWI.

March 24
12200 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of theft of wallet while at place of business and fraudulent activity ensued. The incident is under investigation.

12500 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of customer problems. Officer responded and found a group of people shouting at staff due to a disagreement.  They were asked to leave the business, and one individual was trespassed due to threats directed at an employee.

During this time period there were 24 property damage traffic accidents and four property damage injury traffic accidents.
