A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department
during the week of March 25-31, 2018.
8600 block of Pineview Lane. Report of intoxicated female who got into another individual’s vehicle and refusing to get out. Officer responded, due to the female’s state, she was transported by ambulance to the hospital for further care.
7700 block of Main Street. Attempted theft from vehicle, officer responded and found owner observed a female enter her vehicle and when confronted, the suspect stated she was putting the owner’s purse inside which she had found on the ground. When advised that was not true, the suspect had left the scene. No further information.
6200 block of Magda Drive. Report of theft by swindle. Officer responded and found contractor had been paid but construction work was not completed and the homeowner could not reach the contractor. Incident under investigation.
100 block of Eagle Lake Drive. Report of person not breathing. Officer responded and provided lifesaving measures along with paramedics. Victim was transported to the hospital for further care.
I-94 and Weaver Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver of vehicle for traffic violation. The driver was arrested for driving after revocation.
12300 block of Main Street. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and an individual did not want to cooperate with bus policy and became confrontational. Individual advised to contact management regarding issues.
16400 block of 96th Avenue. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found male suspect had taken merchandise from store without paying. Incident is under investigation.
13700 block of Grove Drive. Report of license plate stolen from vehicle parked outside of business. No suspect information.
Jonquil Lane and Weaver Lake Road. Report of damage to property. Officer responded and found tunnel wall had been spray painted with graffiti. Incident is under investigation.
17000 block of 89th Place. Report of suspicious vehicle occupied and running while parked on the street for three hours. Officer made contact and found the individual had left his residence due to a disagreement and had stopped on the road to work on his cell phone. The party left the scene without incident.
11900 block of Main Street. Report of window broken on vehicle while parked outside of business and backpack containing laptop and iPad stolen. No suspect information.
11700 block of Central Park Way. Report of vehicle stolen from outside of residence. The vehicle was later recovered in another jurisdiction and license plates missing. The incident is under investigation.
11200 block of 82nd Place. Report of people loading large items into a vehicle from a house that was under construction. Officer made contact and found it was workers for the builder who had just finished painting the house.
13300 block of Maple Knoll Way. Report of noise disturbance. Officer made contact with the resident who was playing a video game and did not realize it was so loud. He stated he would comply with ordinance to avoid further problems.
14700 block of 77th Place. Report of vehicle parked in driveway gone through overnight, nothing of value was stolen. No suspects.
6200 block of Magda Drive. Report of fire on deck of residence possibly caused by cigarette. Officer responded, extinguished flames and stood by until the fire department arrived to take over the scene.
7500 block of Wedgewood Way. Report of neighbor problem involving an individual’s grill posing a risk to an overhanging patio. Officer responded but no flames were observed and the complainant was advised to contact the homeowner’s association for issues at the property.
7600 block of Ranier Lane. Report of residential fire alarm. Officer responded to the home and found it was unoccupied. There was moderate smoke present due to food burning in a pot on the stove. Fire department arrived to take over the scene and the homeowner was contacted.
12900 block of Weaver Lake Road. Report of unwanted persons. Officer responded and found that a group of people had been refusing to leave business and were verbally abusive to staff. The individuals then left the area without further incident.
17400 block of 90th Avenue. Report of suspicious activity. Officer made contact and found individual had message appear on home computer that wouldn’t allow him to continue use. He called the number shown to have it fixed and provided bank information to pay for the repair. Finding this unusual, he contacted police. He was advised of this being a scam and to contact his bank to cancel the transaction.
During this time period there were 27 property damage traffic accidents and two property damage injury traffic accidents.
