Threat, Burglary, Suspicious Person: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of April 8-14, 2018.

April 8
83rd Way and Weaver Lake Road. Report of a traffic complaint of a weaving vehicle that had pulled into a parking lot. Officer made contact with the sole occupant of the vehicle who appeared to be sleeping in the driver’s seat.  The occupant of the vehicle was arrested for fifth degree possession of Controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

7800 block of Yucca Lane. Report of appliance fire. Officer responded along with the fire department who extinguished the fire. 

12200 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of a threat. Officer responded, an individual approached a driver in his vehicle and threaten to beat him up and break the windows, as he apparently thought the driver had cut in line. The individual then left the scene. No further information available.

April 9 
7600 block of Everest Lane. Report of three cell phones stolen from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway overnight. No suspect information.

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle with cameras driving the aisles of parking lot, stopping behind vehicles. Officer responded and found it was a driver working for a repossession company.

11300 block of 71st Avenue. Report of shotgun stolen from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway overnight. No suspect information.

8400 block of Forestview Lane. Report of person sleeping in vehicle in parking lot. Officer made contact and found the individual was not sleeping but waiting for his girlfriend to give her a ride. No further assistance needed.

9700 block of 86th Avenue. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found an extension ladder and construction supplies had been stolen from business. he incident is under investigation.

April 10
11400 block of Fountains Drive. Report of female being followed by a male in a vehicle who had taken pictures of her and had verbally harassed her. Officer responded, but was unable to locate the suspect.

13600 block of 80th Circle. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and located the individual who returned the merchandise and was trespassed from the store.

April 11 
13600 block of 80th Circle. Report of shoplifting. Officer made contact with the female who was arrested for felony possession of shoplifting gear and possession of methamphetamine. 

Vinewood Lane and Weaver Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle drive through red traffic light.  Contact was made with the driver who admitted to drinking and was arrested for fourth degree DWI.

April 12
12900 block of 63rd Avenue. Report of suspicious vehicle parked outside of business. Officer made contact with the occupant and found it was a guest smoking. No further issues.

Hemlock Lane and Main Street. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle traveling on the roadway without any lights. Contact was made with the driver who was arrested for third degree DWI.

April 13
11500 block of Fountains Drive. Report of cash stolen from locked vehicle. No suspect information.

13600 block of 80th Circle. Report of female who put merchandise inside of purse and when confronted by employee gave it back. Officer responded and the individual was trespassed from the business.

April 14
6400 block of Berkshire Lane. Report of payment envelopes placed in mailbox and the payment envelopes were stolen.  The checks were fraudulently used in another community. No suspect information.

7800 block of Main Street. Report of intoxicated customer for whom staff was unsuccessfully trying to arrange transportation.  Officer responded and drove the individual to his residence where there was no further concern for his welfare.

Elm Creek Boulevard and Weaver Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle traveling in the wrong lane. Contact was made with driver who was arrested for second degree DWI.

During this time period there were 31 property damage traffic accidents and one property damage injury traffic accident.
