DWI, Theft, Arguments: Maple Grove Police Department Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of April 15-21, 2018.

April 15

13300 block of Grove Drive. Report of business alarm. Officers responded and found a window broken, the door ajar and a tool was missing. Incident under investigation

6900 block of Ximines Lane. Attempt of a vehicle theft. Officer responded, found unlocked vehicle had been parked outside of residence with keys inside. Owner found it stuck at the end of his driveway with the keys missing. No suspect information.

7300 block of Vinewood Court. Report of neighbor’s garage door left open overnight, officer responded and found the garage filling with snow. Upon checking the interior of the residence, the homeowner was asleep and advised.

Fish Lake Road and Hemlock Lane. Officer on routine patrol made contact with the driver of a vehicle who had driven into a snow bank. The driver was found to be under the influence and was arrested for DWI.

April 16

12200 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifting. Officers responded and located two suspects who had left the store with unpaid merchandise. Both arrested for shoplifting, possession of shoplifting gear and trespassed from the business.

13500 block of 83rd Way. Report of person parked outside of business. Officer made contact with sleeping occupants, parties were arrested for possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.

April 17

9800 block of Hospital Drive. Report of two people in lobby causing a disturbance. Officer responded to find the individuals had left the building. No further assistance needed.

April 18

8400 block of Jefferson Highway. Report of two staff members involved in an altercation. Officer responded and it was determined no assault had occurred. The two individuals were advised to leave for the evening.

12200 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of an employee causing a disturbance after being reprimanded and was subsequently let go. Unable to locate the suspect. Manager advised to call if they returned.

I-94 and Maple Grove Parkway. Officer responded to stalled vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who was arrested for providing false information to police and driving after revocation.

April 19

7200 block of Forestview Lane. Officer on routine patrol observed male sleeping inside of vehicle outside of business. The individual did not initially respond when contact was made and subsequent conversation revealed party was intoxicated. A friend responded to the scene to take over care of the individual.

6800 block of Yucca Lane. Report of property damage overnight. Officer responded and found a small hole in the vehicle’s window apparently due to a BB gun, which caused the window to shatter; no suspect information.

10000 block of Saratoga Way. Report of unknown vehicle parked in front of home for half and hour. Officer made contact with the occupant who stated he was playing a game on his phone. No further problems.

April 20

Hemlock Lane and I-94. Officer on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop due to traffic violations. The driver was arrested for DWI.

9500 block of 99th Place. Report of possible theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found homeowner awoke to dogs barking and observed his vehicle appeared to have been rummaged through. Nothing appeared missing.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of two shoplifters in custody. Officer responded and suspects were arrested for theft.

Hemlock Lane and I-694. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle driving erratically and traveling at a high rate of speed. The driver was arrested for DWI.

April 21

9500 block of Pineview Lane. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found homeowner’s attached garage had been entered overnight, the two vehicles parked inside were gone through and a laptop was stolen. No suspect information.

14000 block of Territorial Road. Officer responded to possible shed fire. Upon arrival it was determined there had been a construction vehicle on fire which was extinguished. The fire department arrived to take over the scene.

During this time period, there were 36 property damage traffic accident and five property damage injury traffic accidents.
