Duckling Rescue, Bicycle Stolen, Counterfeit Bill: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of May 27-June 2, 2018.

May 27

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of theft in progress. Officer made contact with individual who was arrested for theft and possession of controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. 

May 28

9800 103rd Avenue. Report of animal complaint. Officer responded and assisted in the removal of several ducklings out of the storm drain and returned them to their mother.

12500 block of 95th Place. Report of two sets of golf clubs stolen overnight from unlocked vehicle. No suspect information.

16300 block of 96th Avenue. Officer on routine patrol found license plate on vehicle that came back stolen. Contact with the two occupants resulted in arrests for possession of stolen property and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

May 29

9200 block of Rosewood Lane. Report of car prowler observed on home security.  Officer obtained copy of footage and extra patrol conducted.

8200 block of Deerwood Lane. Report of dumpster fire. Officer responded along with the fire department who extinguished the fire.

17300 block of 79th Place. Report of snapping turtle in backyard of residence.  Officer responded and was able to safely transfer it over a fence to a nearby swamp area. 

May 30

10800 block of 100th Place. Report of possible individual slumped in vehicle parked on street during the nighttime hour. Officer made contact and found the woman had arrived at her boyfriend’s home but he was asleep so she decided to stay in her car. She was able to reach him and went inside.

15000 block of Grove Circle. Report of employee theft and individual in custody.  Officer responded and the individual was arrested.

13800 block of Grove Drive. Report of gas drive-off. Officer responded and found a male had stated he would come back and pay but had not returned. Follow-up investigation is being conducted. 

May 31

16300 block of 96th Avenue. Report of counterfeit bill received at place of business. Officer responded and the individual appeared to have no knowledge that the bill was fake. No charges.

9700 block of 101st Avenue. Report of checkbook stolen from vehicle parked in driveway and bank notified individual that use of the checks had occurred. No suspect information.

6200 block of Magda Drive. Report of fraud where individual lost a significant amount of money in a phone scam. No suspect information. 

June 1

14000 block of 95th Avenue. Report of bicycle stolen. Officer responded and found lock cable had been cut and bicycle taken from rack on car. No suspect information.

6300 block of Vagabond Lane. Report of check stolen from payment envelope in mailbox and used at retail store. Follow-up investigation is being conducted.

105th Avenue and Maple Grove Parkway. Report of female lying in grass near business. Officer made contact and found the individual had been walking and stopped to rest due to the heat. No further assistance needed. 

June 2

6500 block of Eagle Lake Drive. Report of car prowler. Officer made contact with the homeowner who provided a surveillance photo and confirmed nothing was taken from his vehicle. Unable to locate the suspect.

12100 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of theft of wallet from place of employment and fraudulent use of credit cards. Incident under investigation. 

During this time period there were 32 property damage traffic accidents and six property damage injury traffic accidents.
