Maple Grove Senior High
senior Tyler Burkum was been selected to play in the Perfect Sense Unified Pro-Am Challenge in Potomac, Maryland on June 25.
“Being selected to play in this event is a big honor,” Burkum said.
Burkum, a First Tee of Three Rivers Park District
participant, was one of 18 teens from The First Tee selected to play in the team event at TPC Potomac at Avenel Farm. Each team was comprised of golfers from The First Tee grouped with a PGA Tour player, a wounded veteran, a Special Olympics golfer and a Perfect Sense partner.
“Tyler is a great golfer, but more importantly, Tyler truly represents the nine core values of honesty, integrity, sportsmanship, respect, confidence, responsibility, perseverance, courtesy and judgment that we teach as part of the First Tee Program," Three Rivers Park District First Tee Program Director Brian Pabst said, according to a press release.
Burkum was selected for the Perfect Sense Unified Pro-Am Challenge through a national application process.
