Maple Grove's Meredith Haakenson Continues to Score Soccer Awards

2018 Maple Grove Senior High graduate Meredith Haakenson continues to land awards on the heels of her senior season. Haakenson, who will attend Michigan in the fall was recently named to the All-USA Girls Soccer First Team.

 She also was named 2017-18 High School Girls Scholar Player of the Year, an honor from United Soccer Coaches. This national award recognizes Meredith's impressive feats on the soccer field and in the classroom. Meredith was selected from a group of 55 other female student athletes who earned High School Scholar All-American awards. This fall Meredith will play soccer at the University of Michigan.

Meredith was also awarded Maple Grove Senior High's Athena Award and was named the 2017 Star Tribune Metro Player of the Year.

In addition, Haakenson was awarded the Minnesota Gatorade Player of the Year for the second straight year.

She led the Crimson to a 20-3 record and a runner-up finish in the 2017 state soccer tournament. 
Haakenson has signed a letter of intent to play soccer at the University of Michigan.
