Founded in 1980, Cross Community Players was founded to provide show tickets and collect food/supplies for families in need in the Northwest Twin Cities Area for the social services organization CROSS Services.
"The Pirates of Penzance" is a comic operetta in two acts with music by Gilbert & Sullivan.
“We wanted to stay true to the original version of the show to appeal to the widest audience. An operetta is a play on a classical opera that brings humor and speaking parts in between scenes to speak directly to the audience," Artistic Director Nick Albrecht said. "We’re happy that Cross Community Players has picked this caliber of a production as it has brought out amateur and professional actors from around the Twin Cities to join our production.”
Tickets cost $18/adult, $16/senior (65 years of age and over), $14/child (children under age 2 free when seated on lap of adult). An ASL interpretation is available on July 22 and audio description on July 28.
