Burglary, Fishing, Windows Broken: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of July 1-7, 2018.
8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of male sleeping inside of running car outside of business. Officer made contact, the individual was arrested for DUI, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
12600 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of license plate stolen from vehicle parked outside of business. No suspect information.
11800 block of 95th Avenue. Report of two buses with windows broken out. No suspect information.
96th Avenue and Maple Grove Parkway. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver of vehicle who was arrested for an outstanding warrant and driving after revocation.
11900 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of purse left in restroom of business and then stolen. Incident under investigation.
92nd Place North and Forestview Lane North. Report of fireworks complaint. Officer made contact with two intoxicated males who had set them off in the backyard of residence. Sober party at the scene agreed to ensure no more fireworks would be set off, verbal warning given.
13600 block of 69th Avenue North. Report of theft from auto. Officer made contact and found that an iPhone had been stolen overnight from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway. Incident under investigation.
12900 block of Weaver Lake Road. Report of medical. Officer responded and found individual who had fainted lying on the ground. Assistance was given until paramedics arrived to transport victim to the hospital for further care.
Pineview Lane and Weaver Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle traveling above the posted limit. Contact was made with the driver who was arrested for DWI.
8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of stolen cell phone. Officer made contact and found victim met two males in an attempt to sell an iPhone. One of individuals asked to see iPhone and both males ran away with it in their possession. Incident is under investigation.
16300 block of County Road 30. Report of bicycle theft. Officer made contact and found unlocked bike had been stolen when parked outside place of employment; no suspect information.
12900 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found several sets of headphones were stolen and suspect ran out of store. Follow-up investigation being conducted.
6200 block of Magnolia Lane. Report of juveniles playing basketball in the street. Officer made contact and advised them of safety concerns. No further assistance needed.
12400 block of 89th Place. Report of welfare check. Officer responded and found intoxicated neighbor passed out under homeowner’s deck. Due to the individual’s impairment and no one available to provide care, paramedics transported individual to the hospital.
11300 block of 86th Avenue. Report of gas odor. Officer responded and assisted evacuating the business and those around it. Fire department arrived to measure gas with meters. Gas company called to further assess the scene.
12300 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Officer on routine patrol observed two people fishing in man-made lake. Contact was made and one of the individuals was arrested for an outstanding warrant. Both advised of city ordinance prohibiting fishing there.
8900 block of Underwood Lane. Report of vehicle occupied by a male parked in the area for an extended period. Officer made contact with driver who stated he was waiting for a friend. Advised someone wanted to make sure he was okay. No assistance needed.
8655 I-94. Report of disturbance at rest area. Officer made contact with three males who were involved. One of the individuals was alleged of lewd conduct and car prowling. No crime had been committed and all were advised to stay separated for the night.
13600 block of Grove Drive. Report of suspicious activity where male was passed out in an employee’s vehicle parked outside of business. Officer made contact and found intoxicated individual who would not identify himself and ran from the scene. The individual was apprehended and arrested for flee on foot, false information, and tampering with motor vehicle.
6600 block of Eagle Lake Drive. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found homeowners had returned home to find a window broken out of their residence and jewelry, cash and several guns stolen. The incident is under investigation.
During this time period there were 27 property damage traffic accidents and four property damage injury traffic accidents.
