Assault Report, Shoplifting, Bicycle Stolen: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Aug. 5-11, 2018.

August 5

Highway 169 & I-694. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver for speeding. The male party was cited for possession of marijuana in motor vehicle and driving after revocation. 

Norwood Lane and Weaver Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver of vehicle traveling at high rate of speed.  The driver was arrested for DWI, speeding, and careless driving. 

11800 block of 80th Avenue. Report of assault. Officer responded and found a verbal altercation had occurred between two family members over the use of a vehicle. It was undetermined if an assault had occurred, individuals agreed to separate. No further assistance. 

August 6

8900 block of Sycamore Lane. Report of two unlocked vehicles parked in driveway gone through overnight. No damage and no reported loss. 

9700 block of Alvarado Lane. Report of gun and accessories stolen from garage. No suspect information. 

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of male possibly sleeping in bathroom of business. Officer responded and found intoxicated individual with a head injury, who was transported to the hospital by ambulance for further care. 

August 7

9300 block of Deerwood Lane. Report of assault. Officer responded and found male had gotten into a fight with two others, the incident is under investigation. 

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of person sleeping in vehicle outside of business for second day.  Officer made contact with male, who stated he was waiting for his girlfriend and was going to leave shortly.  Advised male, he was revoked and should not be driving, he stated he would call family member for assistance. 

8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of bicycle stolen from outside of business. Officer responded and the juvenile suspect was located a short time later along with the property.  The owner declined to press charges for theft, no further assistance needed.

August 8

8800 block of Cottonwood Lane. Report of missing person. Officer responded and found individual’s daughter had just returned home after getting lost on a bike ride. No further assistance needed. 

14000 block of 99th Avenue. Report of shoplifter at place of business. Officer responded and located the suspect outside in his vehicle.  He was arrested for Theft and an outstanding warrant. 

August 9

8700 block of Blackoaks Lane. Report of fraudulent credit card transactions. Officer made a report for the bank and provided suggestions to protect individual’s credit. 

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of individual’s cell phone stolen while inside place of business. The incident is under investigation. 

August 10

11500 block of Fountains Drive. Report of male trespassing at business who was suspect in prior thefts. Officer made contact with the individual who was arrested for trespassing and warrants. 

6600 block of Jonquil Way. Report of basketball system stolen from outside of home. No suspect information. 

August 11

12600 block of 82nd Avenue. Report of vehicle stolen from outside of business, vehicle was later recovered in another jurisdiction. The incident is under investigation. 

12800 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifting that had occurred.  Officer responded and located the two suspects, one of whom had assaulted an employee.  One of the females was arrested for theft, possession of shoplifting gear and 5th degree assault.  The other female was arrested for theft and possession of marijuana.  Both were trespassed from the business. 

During this time period there were 35 property damage traffic accidents and seven property damage injury traffic accidents.
