Scam, Shoplifting, Vehicle Stolen: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Sept. 9-15, 2018 in Maple Grove.
80th Avenue and Elm Creek Boulevard. Officer on routine patrol observed traffic violation. Contact made with driver of the vehicle and was arrested for DWI.
18400 block of 97th Place. Report of dog alerting homeowner to unknown party on front step of residence. Officer responded and found intoxicated male who stated a friend used to live there, he was given a ride to his house nearby.
6600 block of Meadowlark Lane. Report of window broken on locked vehicle parked in driveway overnight, duffel bag and contents stolen. No suspect information.
I-94 and Weaver Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol observed equipment violation. Contact was made with the occupants of the vehicle. The driver was arrested for no Minnesota driver’s license and possession of open bottle. The passenger was arrested for false information, possession of marijuana and fifth degree possession.
7900 block of Orchid Lane. Report of vehicle stolen from driveway overnight, keys had been left inside. Vehicle was recovered in another jurisdiction. Incident under investigation.
83rd Way and Weaver Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol noted traffic violation. Contact made with driver who was arrested for DWI.
16000 block of 92nd Avenue. Report of medical. Officer responded and found that a female had fallen. Paramedics arrived to transport the female victim to the hospital.
6700 block of Evergreen Lane. Report of bicycle stolen from behind residence, no suspect information.
6400 block of Sycamore Court. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact and found personal items and documents had been stolen from unlocked vehicle parked outside of place of employment. No suspect information.
6400 block of Lancaster Lane. Report of scam. Officer made contact and found individual had responded to a job posting, female received a check to purchase office products. When the female called credit union, it was discovered the check was fraudulent; no loss.
9000 block of Zachary Lane. Report of theft of used car batteries. Incident under investigation.
11800 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of harassment. Officer responded and found an employee was feeling harassed by a frequent customer. The suspect was contacted and advised they were trespassed from the business and warned not to have further encounters.
9600 block of Grove Circle. Report of welfare check. Officer responded and found intoxicated and confused female sitting on bench outside of business. Female was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
6300 block of Wedgewood Road. Report of individual who had taken parent’s vehicle without permission. Officer located the male who was driving under the influence and was arrested for DWI, driving after cancellation, open bottle, and obstruct legal process.
16500 block of 96th Avenue. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found employee had noted security camera stolen. Incident is under investigation.
12800 Arbor Lakes Parkway. Report of disturbance. Officer responded and found an argument regarding money owed had ensued between the driver of a vehicle and her passenger. Due to becoming frightened, the driver came to the police department to get the individual out of her car. While an officer was present, they came to an agreement and went their separate ways.
12900 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of customer causing disturbance in store. Upon officer’s arrival, the suspect had left and mailed a trespass notice.
13800 block of Grove Drive. Report of taxi no pay and the individual had run off. Officer responded and located the suspect, who was arrested for theft.
6700 block of Troy Lane. Report of a noise complaint. Officer responded to the home where there appeared to be a party. It was determined that a stolen vehicle was parked in the garage, the residents of the house were taken into custody and charged with possession of stolen property.
17700 block of Weaver Lake Road. Report of theft. Officer responded and found a kayak and paddle had been stolen from the dock behind residence. No suspect information.
During this time period there were 43 property damage traffic accidents and two property damage injury traffic accidents.
