Burglary, Suspicious Person, Theft: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Sept. 23-29, 2018 in Maple Grove.

September 23
8500 Block of Rosewood Lane. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact and found backpack containing clothing, shoes, and personal items stolen from vehicle parked outside. No suspect information.

13800 block of Grove Drive. Report of gas drive-off, incident is under investigation.

Elm Creek Boulevard and Grove Drive. Officer on routine patrol observed traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver, who was arrested for false information to peace officer and driving after suspension.

September 24
10000 block of 100th Avenue. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found drill had been stolen out of garage, unknown suspect.

15300 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and located the suspect, who had left the store. The adult female was arrested for theft and an outstanding warrant and was trespassed from the business.

September 25
9700 block of 106th Place. Report of identity theft. Officer made contact and found individual’s personal information had been fraudulently obtained and used to open credit cards; steps were taken to secure personal information.  No suspect information.

71st Avenue and Hemlock Lane. Report of property damage resulting in a fight.  Officer responded to the scene, the suspect had keyed another’s vehicle causing damage.  The suspect was arrested for damage to property.  

15800 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifting that just occurred and two males left the scene in a vehicle.  They were located by an officer nearby and arrested for theft, false information to police, driving after revocation, and trespassed from the business. 

September 26
83rd Way and Zinnia Lane. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle commit traffic violation. Contact was made with the driver who was arrested for outstanding warrants, fifth degree possession, driving after revocation and a traffic offense.

15300 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifting and the individual, who fled the scene in a vehicle. Unable to locate the suspect, the incident is under investigation.

September 27
9500 block of Blackoaks Lane. Report of suspicious person. Officer made contact and found that a male has loitered at a place of business and then followed young people in his car when they left. The incidents are under investigation.

12600 block of 88th Avenue. Report of medical. Officer responded and found male had fallen in the yard and was injured.  Ambulance arrived to transport the victim to the hospital for further care.

September 28
9100 block of Zanzibar Lane. Report of threats. Officer made contact and found female had received a challenge to a fight through a third party.  Due to disparities of information from parties involved, advised to stay separated, record further conversations, and obtain protection order if needed.

17600 block of 91st Avenue. Report of mail theft. Officer responded and found individual had replacement checks stolen from mailbox and subsequent fraudulent activity. No suspect information.

9400 block of Lancaster Lane. Report of neighbor complaint. Officer responded and found neighbors have had ongoing disputes. Mediation information provided and advised to avoid contact with each other.

September 29
8500 block of Forestview Lane. Report of noise complaint. Officer responded and found loud music coming from residence.  The homeowner apologized and complied with the ordinance.

18000 block of 69th Place. Report of theft.  Officer responded and found individual’s wallet had been stolen at unknown time and had fraudulent activity on credit cards. Incident is under investigation. 
  
16500 block of 96th Avenue. Officer on routine patrol, approached by employee of business who stated shoplifting had just occurred. Witness observed suspect leave the store with unpaid tools and leave in vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

During this time period there were 34 property damage traffic accidents and four property damage injury traffic accidents.
