Burglary, Muskrat, Suspicious Activity: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Sept. 30 to Oct. 6, 2018 in Maple Grove.

September 30
17600 block of Weaver Lake Drive. Report of vehicle stopped in middle of road and driver was not moving. Officer made contact with the adult male who was arrested for DWI and open bottIe.
 
9300 block of Chesshire Lane. Report of traffic complaint in which a vehicle had been driving through the neighborhood at a high rate of speed. Officer made contact with the driver who was arrested for fifth degree possession and possession of dangerous weapons along with the traffic offense.

October 1
10500 block of Lancaster Lane. Report of animal complaint. Officer responded and found a muskrat trapped in a window well. The muskrat was removed safely with a net and released in a nearby pond.

11800 block of 95th Avenue. Report of theft of vehicle. Officer responded and found a vehicle had been stolen through fraudulent means from a place of business. Incident is under investigation.

8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting in progress. Officer arrived on scene and made contact with the suspect who was arrested for theft.

October 2
16100 block of 84th Place. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found several construction tools had been stolen from outside of home when left unattended. Follow-up investigation is being conducted.

7900 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of suspicious activity. Officer responded and found female employee had lewd remarks shouted to her from a vehicle as she left work.  The driver then followed her for a ways.  Officer advised to immediately report any further contact with the suspect.

13500 block of 95th Place. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found a black bag with miscellaneous items was stolen over the weekend from a car parked in driveway of residence. No suspect information.

October 3
11300 block of Fountains Drive. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found store merchandise had been stolen and the suspects left in a vehicle.  The incident is under investigation.

October 4
9100 block of Zanzibar Lane. Report of threats. Officer responded and found two females had been involved in ongoing disputes with each other.  Advised to avoid further contact and given resource information.

10200 block of 89th Avenue. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact and found wallet containing cash was stolen while vehicle was parked outside place of employment.  No suspect information.

October 5 
17000 block of 89th Place. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found tools had been stolen from attached garage of residence. No suspect information.

9500 block of Garland Lane. Report of medical. Officer responded and found vehicle had been driven erratically across parking lot, the driver had apparently suffered a seizure. Paramedics assisted at the scene and a friend transported the victim home.

12900 block of 63rd Avenue. Report of customer trouble.  Officer responded and found two individuals had been creating a disturbance due to a disagreement with staff.  They had left the scene prior to officer’s arrival; advised to call for assistance if they returned. 

October 6
8400 block of Rosewood Court. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found inoperable key fob for remote start had been stolen from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway; no suspect information.

8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found known suspect had stolen several items from store; the incident is under investigation.

9000 block of Weston Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle.  Officer responded and found several juveniles hanging out as well as an odor of burnt marijuana. The juveniles were advised to leave the area.   

During this time period there were 20 property damage traffic accidents and eight property damage injury traffic accidents.
