Disturbance, Burglary, Vehicle Theft: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Oct. 7-13, 2018 in Maple Grove.

October 7

89th Avenue and Tewsbury Gate. Report of vehicle in ditch. Officer responded and found the occupant of the vehicle showed signs of impairment. The suspect was arrested for DWI Refusal. 

9200 block of Inland Lane. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found miscellaneous items had been taken from vehicle overnight, some of which were recovered nearby. No suspect information. 

October 8

11200 block of 72nd Avenue. Report of vehicle theft. Officer responded and found victim’s car was stolen from driveway of residence overnight. The incident is under investigation. 

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of shoplifter in custody.  Officer responded and found female suspect had purchased some items while concealing others.  She was arrested for theft and trespassed from the business. 

9000 block of Chesshire Lane. Report of woman screaming outside. Officers arrived and checked the area. They did not locate anyone in trouble. 

October 9

11700 block of Fountains Way. Report of property damage.  Officer responded and found tire had been slashed on vehicle parked outside place of employment. Incident is under investigation. 

10800 block of Nathan Lane. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found laptop and wallet were stolen from vehicle overnight. Incident is under investigation. 

October 10

18600 block of 97th Place. Report of burglary. Officer responded, it was reported that a bicycle and miscellaneous sporting goods were stolen from a garage overnight. No suspect information. 

13600 block of 80th Circle. Report of theft. Officer responded and found customer’s purse was stolen from cart while shopping.  It was later located inside the store, but cash was missing from victim’s wallet. Incident is under investigation. 

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of theft by swindle. Officer responded and found adult female had attempted to fraudulently return new items from the store using old receipts.  The suspect was arrested and trespassed from the business. 

October 11

8100 block of Oakview Lane. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found a briefcase, wallet, and new clothing were stolen from a vehicle overnight. No suspect information. 

12400 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of customer trouble. Officer responded and found a male had come into the business and was being loud, disruptive and threatening employees; customers were leaving the store.  The intoxicated individual was trespassed from the businesses and released to a family member.  

October 12

13900 Block of Grove Drive. Report of suspicious occupied vehicle parked at business for extended period.  Officer responded and found male passed out in driver’s seat.  The individual appeared impaired, upon further investigation the male was arrested for 5th degree possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. 

13300 block of Maple Knoll Way. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found cash had been stolen. No suspect information. 

17300 block of 79th Place. Report of suspicious activity. Officer responded and found homeowner thought doorbell was rung and then heard pounding coming from under neighbor’s deck.  No one was located outside the residence, it was determined the noise was due to a basement construction project. No further assistance needed. 

October 13

9900 block of Ives Lane. Report of medical. Officer responded and found individual having difficulty breathing.  Assistance provided until ambulance arrived and transported victim to hospital for further care. 

7400 block of County Road 101 – report of theft. Officer responded and found cell phone left unattended inside building had been stolen, no suspect information. 

12900 block of Weaver Lake Road. Report of vandalism. Officer responded and found graffiti written inside the building. No suspect information. 

During this time period there were 19 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
