Neighbor Dispute, Theft, Disorderly Conduct: MGPD Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Oct. 21-27, 2018 in Maple Grove.
6300 block of Forestview Lane. Report of suspicious person. Officer responded and found unknown male had been standing on homeowner’s front steps. Contact was made with the individual nearby who stated he was walking home and took a break since his shortcut had been blocked by a new fence. Advised to stay on the street and out of people’s yards.
11400 block of Fountains Drive. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found a male and female had stolen a bag full of merchandise and left the scene in a vehicle. The incident is under further investigation.
6400 block of Sycamore Lane. Report of weapons complaint. Officer responded and found female had been unloading groceries in the garage when a male approached carrying three knives. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the male had the knives on his person due to his employment at a restaurant and he stated he was offering to help. It was deemed a misunderstanding due to language barriers and no further assistance needed.
11200 block of Fountains Drive. Report of suspicious activity. Officer made contact with an individual who had set up a tent behind business. Contact was made with the adult male advising he would need to move along due to it being private property. It was discovered that he had an outstanding warrant and was arrested.
9700 block of 106th Avenue. Report of neighbor dispute. Officer responded and found disagreement had occurred regarding maintenance of leaves in their respective yards. Officer assisted in mediation.
12600 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of theft. Officer responded and found deposit bags containing cash and receipts was stolen from office of business. The incident is under investigation.
9500 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found adult female had attempted to steal a large bag of clothing but when confronted by staff, left the merchandise at the scene and drove off in a vehicle. Unable to locate. The incident is under investigation.
9300 block of Upland Lane. Report of gas drive off. Officer responded and found driver had left the scene without paying for gas and unable to locate. Follow-up is being conducted.
11700 block of 95th Avenue. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact and found tools had been stolen overnight from unlocked utility box of truck parked in parking lot of business. No suspect information.
9000 block of Rosewood Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officer responded and found a vehicle had been driving in the neighborhood with its hazard lights on. Subsequent contact with the driver revealed the individual was delivering newspapers and hazards were used to prevent traffic accident. No assistance needed.
14600 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of medical. Officer responded and found individual had apparently suffered a stroke. Paramedics arrived to transport the victim to the hospital for further care.
13700 block of Grove Drive. Report of theft. Officer responded and found employee had stolen items and completed fraudulent transactions. The suspect was arrested for theft and trespassed from the store.
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting in progress. Officer responded and the suspect was observed exiting the store. He was arrested for theft and trespassed from the business.
I-94 & Maple Grove Parkway. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver for equipment violation. The individual was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
I-494 & Bass Lake Road. Report of traffic complaint. Officer made contact with the driver of vehicle who was arrested for DWI.
15300 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifter in custody. Officer responded and the suspect was arrested for theft and trespassed from the store.
16400 block of County Road 30. Report of suspicious package in waiting area of business. Officer responded and found it was a bag of sand to be used as an anchor.
Main Street and Arbor Lakes Parkway. Officer approached by concerned citizen regarding young boy who had been found alone. A family friend made contact with the officer and stated they had been looking for him and that apparently the child had wandered off when they were heading to their vehicle. No further assistance needed.
9600 block of Fernbrook Lane. Report of disorderly conduct. Officer responded and found a female stated she had been pushed down by another parent following a verbal altercation at a game. No witnesses and neither party wanted to press charges.
9500 block of Ranchview Lane. Report of suspicious activity. Officer made contact and found individual had been on a website for job postings. Upon filling out information, a text message was received of illicit nature. Advised of internet and social media safety.
During this time period there were 31 property damage traffic accidents and six property damage injury traffic accidents.
