Mail Theft, Suspicious Person, Shoplifting: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Nov. 4-10, 2018 in Maple Grove.

November 4 
8600 block of Pineview Lane. Report of driving complaint, officer made contact and found an intoxicated male who was arrested for DWI refusal.

73rd Avenue and Eagle Lake Boulevard. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle parked on roadside.  Officer made contact, female passenger was cited for public urination.

11800 block of 73rd Avenue. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found a tablet computer had been stolen from business. No suspect information.

November 5 
11900 block of 90th Avenue. Report of property damage. Officer made contact and found individual’s car had been damaged by hit and run, the vehicle had been keyed. No suspect information.

15600 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of suspicious person. Officer responded and found a male had been loitering around the building but had left the scene.  Further follow up is being conducted.

November 6
13800 block of 80th Avenue. Report of lift assist. Officer responded, the individual had not been injured, officer provided assistance as needed.

13300 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of gas no pay. Officer responded and found vehicle had been driven off after filling up. No suspect information.

9600 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found miscellaneous household products had been stolen from the business by two adult males. The incident is under investigation.

November 7 
11300 block of Fountains Drive. Report of shoplifter in custody. Officer made contact and found a male had concealed merchandise and exited the store. The suspect was arrested for theft and trespassed from the business.

6300 block of Vinewood Lane. Report of intoxicated patron leaving business.  Officer made contact with the male party in the parking lot who admitted to drinking. His wife responded to the scene to transport him home. No further assistance needed.

11500 block of 98th Avenue. Report of fraud. Officer made contact and found individual had fraudulent transactions on bank account; no suspect information.

November 8 
13500 block of Grove Drive. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and found adult male was argumentative with staff and refused to leave until police were called, gone on officer’s arrival.  Following unsuccessful attempts to locate, trespass notice was mailed to the suspect. 

8100 block of Xene Lane. Report of mail theft. Officer made contact and found a check and other mail had been stolen. No suspect information.

November 9 
I-494 and I-694. Officer on routine patrol observed a stalled vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who was found to have a cancelled driver’s license inimical to public safety and was arrested.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of property damage. Officer responded and found windshield of vehicle had been broken while parked outside of place of employment. No suspect information.

11500 block of 100th Avenue. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact and found license plate had been stolen from vehicle and had been involved in thefts. No suspect information.

November 10
10500 block of 103rd Avenue. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officer responded and found homeowner discovered unknown vehicle parked in driveway and requested it be towed. It was later found that the car belonged to a family member’s friend of which he was unaware. Provided information on retrieving the vehicle from impound.

7900 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of suspicious person. Officer responded and found a male had walked into the store with his face covered and was carrying a hammer. It was found the individual had been working on the roof and there were no problems.

12800 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found cell phone and backpack were stolen from vehicle while the owner had been inside business; no suspect information.

During this time period there were 45 property damage traffic accidents and nine property damage injury traffic accidents.
