Fraud, Noise Complaint, Theft: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Nov. 18-24, 2018 in Maple Grove.

November 18
82nd Place and Pineview Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officer made contact with the three occupants who had been waiting for a friend to arrive home. They decided to leave the area.

13300 block of Maple Knoll Way. Report of civil matter. Officer responded and found parents involved in custody dispute. Advised to take the matter to court.

November 19
11100 block of Fountains Drive. Report of fraud. Officer made contact and found there had been fraudulent charges on victim’s credit card at local businesses. The incidents are under investigation. 

96th Avenue and Maple Grove Parkway. Report of welfare check. Officer made contact with individual who was standing on the median holding a sign soliciting money.  The individual was provided a ride to join up with friend and given a resource card. 

12600 block of 82nd Avenue. Report of assault. Officer responded and found physical altercation had occurred while playing a game and one involved party had left the scene.  The incident is under investigation.

November 20
8900 block of Tewsbury Gate. Report of mail theft. Officer made contact and found victim had two packages stolen from her mailbox. No suspect information.

12100 block of Main Street. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact and found window was broken and backpack containing laptop was stolen from vehicle while victim was inside business. No suspect information.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of theft. Officer responded and found individual had left wallet in shopping cart in parking lot of business which was gone upon return to the store; the incident is under investigation.

November 21
16300 block of 96th Avenue. Report of theft. Officer responded and found a forklift had been stolen from construction site. No suspect information.


November 22
13600 block of Grove Drive. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found female suspect had left the business with several items and drove off in a vehicle; the incident is under investigation.

13600 block of Grove Drive. Report of welfare check. Officer responded and found intoxicated female had tried to get into wrong vehicle outside of business by mistake. The male party who was with her agreed to bring her home.
  
12000 block of Central Park Way. Report of suspicious activity. Officer responded but was unable to hear any loud music nor locate any vehicle in the park. 

November 23
15300 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found five suspects had stolen merchandise and drove off in vehicle. Incident is under  investigation.

13400 block of Grove Drive. Report of gas no pay. Officer responded and found suspect had filled gasoline and then vehicle was driven off at high rate of speed. Unable to locate.

November 24
6700 block of Berkshire Lane. Report of noise complaint. Officer responded and found it was second call following a verbal warning given a few hours prior. The homeowner was cited for violation of the city noise ordinance.

8150 Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting in progress. Officer responded and the suspect was arrested for theft and trespassed from the business.

11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of theft. Officer responded and found television had been stolen from room; the incident is under investigation.

During this time period there were 21 property damage traffic accidents and one property damage injury traffic accident.
