Disorderly Conduct, Burglary, Identity Theft: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Dec. 9-15, 2018 in Maple Grove.

December 9

13900 block of 62nd Avenue. Report of vehicle theft. Officer made contact and found a former employee had stolen a vehicle.  The vehicle was recovered in another jurisdiction. 

9600 block of Alvarado Lane. Report of unknown male attempting to open door of residence.  Officer responded and found intoxicated male who lived nearby, had locked himself out. He contacted a friend who arrived on scene to offer assistance. 

8500 block of Oakview Way. Report of medical. Officer responded and found victim experiencing severe back pain. Paramedics arrived to transport the victim to hospital. 

December 10

7300 block of Kirkwood Court. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and found former employee arrived at business and caused a disturbance. Former employee gone upon officer’s arrival.  Advised to call if the individual returned. 

9500 block of Blackoaks Lane. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found no sign of forced entry but damage to a cabinet where money was kept. Nothing taken. The incident is under investigation. 

8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found the store had evidence of suspect stealing merchandise. The incident under investigation.

December 11

13600 block of 80th Circle. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact with owner and found license plate had been stolen while parked outside place of employment. No suspect information. 

12400 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifting and suspects had left in vehicle. Officer responded and the suspect was located nearby and was arrested for possession of stolen property. 

December 12

8200 block of Yellowstone Lane. Report of suspicious activity. Officer responded and found two unknown males had attempted entry into home. Contact with the individuals revealed they were painters who were at the wrong residence. 

Wedgewood Lane and Vinewood Lane.Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver following traffic violation.  It was found that the individual had an outstanding warrant and admitted to possession of stolen items from nearby business. The suspect was arrested for the warrant, misdemeanor theft and possession of shoplifting gear. 

13800 block of Grove Drive. Report of customer trouble. Officer responded and found female had been involved in a verbal altercation with employee.  It was determined there had been a misunderstanding and no further assistance was needed. 

December 13

10600 block of Union Terrace Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle parked in neighborhood. Officer made contact and one of the individuals, who had an outstanding warrant and was in possession of drug paraphernalia.  Other narcotics were found, both suspects were arrested for 5th degree controlled Substance. 

11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of disorderly conduct. Officer responded and found intoxicated guest at hotel called police due to argument with employee about room services.  An agreement was reached and staff advised to call if further problems. 

17900 block of 96th Avenue. Report of harassment. Officer made contact and found individual had been receiving harassing messages from individual.  Advised the suspect to cease further contact and provided victim with information on how to obtain restraining order. 

December 14

6500 block of Urbandale Lane. Report of identity theft. Officer made contact with individual who had received information that someone had opened an account using his name and made a large purchase. Advised regarding identity theft. 

11800 block of 84th Avenue. Report of restraining order violation. Officer made contact and found individual had been contacted by person with whom a restraining order was in place.  The suspect was arrested for violation. 

12900 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found individual had completed transactions following price switching. The suspect was arrested for theft by swindle, possession of shoplifting gear and 5th degree controlled substance.

December 15

11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of welfare check. Officer responded and found intoxicated male had been brought to a room by friends. They agreed to care for the individual for the evening; no further assistance needed. 

6200 block of Magda Drive. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact and found individual’s purse had been stolen from unlocked vehicle overnight and fraudulent transactions occurring.  No suspect information. 

7200 block of Forestview Lane. Report of narcotics complaint. Officer responded and found individual had been asked to leave hotel and was outside huffing.  The suspect was cited and left the scene. 

During this time period there were 34 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
