Ice Rescue, Stalled Vehicle, Unauthorized Burning: MGFD December Incident Report

For the month of December, the Maple Grove Fire Department responded to 67 incident reports. Here's a synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Fire Department for December 2018.

December 1 
9600 block of 63rd Avenue North. Ice rescue. Adult male was ice fishing and fell through the ice.  Another fisherman was able to throw him a rope and pull him out to safety.

December 2 
9400 block of Dunkirk Lane North. Passenger vehicle fire. Arrived to a car fully engulfed, extinguished and cleared.

10800 block of Trenton Lane North. Burnt food.

December 3 
7000 block of Magda Drive. Burnt food.

December 7
6500 block of Bluebird Drive North. Arcing, shorted electrical equipment. 

December 8
8100 block of Wedgewood Lane North. Gasoline or other flammable liquid spill. Paged out for fuel spill.  Arrived to find owner accidentally hit transfer switch causing spill.  MGFD applied floor dry and store manager used shopping carts to barricade off area.

9300 block of Lanewood Lane North. Burnt food.

December 9
17700 block of 96th Avenue North. Gas leak. 

December 10
Elm Creek Boulevard and Highway 610. Vehicle accident, general cleanup.

December 13
11800 block of Fountains Way. Smoke or odor removal. 

December 17
9000 block of Zanzibar Lane North. Strange odor/smell.

December 18
9400 block of Trenton Lane North. Unauthorized burning - no permit. Call to a check burn. Upon arriving, tenant was burning debris in a 55 gallon drum, directed him to extinguish fire.  Advised him of rules on recreational fire requirements because he did not have a permit.  Informed him that every year a permit was required.  Fire cleared scene.

December 26
8400 block of Rice Lake Road. Burnt food.

December 27
8300 block of Shadyview Lane North. Gas leak.
16500 block of 92nd Avenue North. Removal of victim(s) from stalled elevator. Two residents stuck in elevator. Firefighter went to elevator. Let elevator down to basement floor, elevator company arrived. 

December 29
17300 block of 72nd Avenue North. Medical assist, assist EMS. Assisted MGPD and North Ambulance with medical.
