Burglary, Mail Theft, Fireworks: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Dec. 30, 2018 to Jan. 5, 2019 in Maple Grove. 

December 30

8600 block of Pineview Lane. Report of an assist. Officer responded and found intoxicated male refused cab service from business. He was transported to a nearby friend’s home for the night.

9600 block of 63rd Avenue. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found money had been stolen from two pay stations outside of business; the incident is under investigation.

8200 block of Yuma Way. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact and found two pairs of sunglasses and phone accessories were stolen overnight from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway. No suspect information.

December 31

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found multiple items had been stolen from the business and the suspect had ran from the store and left in a vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

Valley Forge Lane and 101st Avenue. Report of traffic complaint. Officer responded and found two drivers had been involved in a road rage incident. Discussed the situation with the parties; no charges.

9400 block of Niagara Lane. Report of fireworks complaint. Officer made contact and found lit brick of fireworks had been left on homeowner’s front step and the suspects left in a vehicle; unable to locate.

January 1

6600 block of Annapolis Lane. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver of suspicious vehicle who was arrested for driving after cancellation and possession of controlled substance. 

January 2

12300 block of Arbor Lakes Parkway. Officer on routine patrol observed ice house on lake. Contact made with the occupants, one of whom had been previously warned on two occasions about fishing ordinance and was issued a citation.

8100 block of Maple Lane. Report of mail theft. Officer responded and found homeowner had multiple packages containing prescriptions stolen. No suspect information.

Maple Grove Parkway and I-94. Officers on routine patrol conducted a traffic stop, resulting in a possession of controlled substance arrest. 

January 3

11600 block of Red Fox Drive. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found vehicle and garage had been gone through overnight. A wallet with cash and gift cards was stolen. No known suspect.

15300 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifting in progress. Officer responded and the suspect admitted to taking items. The store declined pursuing charges and requested the suspect be trespassed.

January 4
12500 block of 85th Place. Report of fraud. Officer made contact and found individual’s credit card had been used fraudulently. No suspect information. 

11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of customer trouble. Officer located the suspect nearby who admitted to being involved in an altercation with staff.  The adult female was trespassed from business. No charges pursued. 

Weaver Lake Road and Forestview Lane. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver who had committed a traffic violation. The adult male was arrested for DWI and careless driving. 

January 5

6400 block of Xenium Lane. Report of medical. Officer responded and found adult male had been ill and fallen. Assistance given into vehicle for family member to transport to the hospital for further care.

9900 block of Walnut Grove Lane. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found homeowner had moved out of residence, he went back to check on the residence, he discovered washer and dryer had been stolen. No suspect information.

7400 block of Dallas Court. Report of fireworks complaint. Officer responded and located adult male setting them off. He was advised of the complaint and laws and was cooperative.
