Theft, Prowlers, Burglary: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Jan. 6-12, 2019 in Maple Grove. 

January 6
85th Avenue and Revere Lane. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver for traffic violation. The adult male was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

January 7
Main Street and Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of possible accident. Officer responded and found
occupied vehicle running with passed out driver who was found to be intoxicated. The
adult male was arrested for DWI and careless Driving.

9900 block of Trenton Lane. Report of prowlers. Officer responded and found homeowner had
observed three individuals by his vehicle and checking doors on neighbor’s house. Unable
to locate the suspects.

10500 block of 99th Place. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found
unlocked vehicle had been gone through overnight and loose change stolen. No suspect information.

January 8
13600 block of 80th Circle. Report of theft. Officer responded and found cell phone had
been stolen when individual left it unattended while inside business. No suspect information.

18700 block of 101st Avenue. Report of unwanted person. Officer made contact and found
female was waiting inside bus shelter with child when unknown male attempted conversation and loitered about causing discomfort. Unable to locate.

11500 block of Fountains Drive. Report of verbal altercation between two customers inside of
business. Officer responded and discussed the situation with both parties. No charges incurred.

January 9
8500 block of Rice Lake Road. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found
window of vehicle had been smashed and computer tablet stolen. No suspect information.

18000 block of 69th Place. Report of noise complaint. Officer responded and found
individual had been playing a new drum set and was unaware of volume outside. Advised
of city ordinance and agreed to comply.

January 10
Hemlock Lane and I-694. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle with equipment violation. 
Contact was made with the driver who was arrested for possession of marijuana in motor
vehicle.

13600 block of Grove Drive. Report of shoplifting that had occurred. Three female suspects
had stolen merchandise and left in vehicle. Unable to locate, the incident is under
investigation.

14700 block of 94th place. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found license
plate had been stolen and used in gas drive-off. No suspect information.

January 11 
Bass Lake Road and I-494. Officer on routine patrol observed illegal driving conduct of
vehicle. Contact was made with the driver who was arrested for DWI and careless criving.

12400 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found door
on business had been pried open and glass broken out, no apparent loss and no suspect information.

7400 block of Kilmer Lane. Report of disturbance. Officer responded and found two
males had been involved in a verbal dispute. The situation was mediated with no further assistance needed.

January 12
I-94 & Maple Grove Parkway. Officer on routine patrol made contact with the male driver of a
vehicle who was arrested for false Information to police and driving after revocation. The female passenger was found to have drug paraphernalia on her person and was arrested for 5th
degree possession and multiple outstanding warrants.

6300 Block of Vinewood Lane. Report of business burglary. Officer responded and found money had been taken overnight from safe; the incident under investigation.

1000 Block of 104th Avenue. Report of snowmobile complaint. Officer made contact
with one of the individuals, and it was determined the drivers were not in violation of city ordinance by riding on the pond.
