Vehicle Theft, Suspicious Activity, Fraud: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Jan. 13-19, 2019 in Maple Grove.

January 13

11800 block of Fountains Way. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver of vehicle who was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

11700 block of Central Parkway. Report of missing person and vehicles. Officer responded and found female party had just returned, she been washing the couple’s vehicles nearby.

January 14

8000 block of Main Street. Officer on routine patrol made contact with vehicle occupied by two individuals parked and running in ramp. Both male parties were arrested for fifth degree possession of controlled substance.

8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting in progress where male had left the store. Officer responded and located the suspect nearby who was arrested for theft and trespassed from the business.

9800 block of 69th Avenue. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found an ice auger had been stolen from truck bed. No suspect information.

January 15

13800 block of Grove Drive. Report of welfare check. Officer responded and found individual had been in restroom of business for over an hour. Contact was made with the female who was identified and arrested for two outstanding warrants.The male occupant was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and both parties were trespassed from business.

86th Avenue and Deerwood Lane. Report of suspicious activity. Officer responded and found security video on separate occasions at construction site showed suspects entering storage container and possible theft occurring. The incidents are under investigation.

18300 block of 64th Avenue. Report of house fire. Officer responded along with the fire department who extinguished the blaze. All occupants and pets had exited safely.

January 16

Fish Lake Road and Robin Road. Officer on routine patrol observed erratic operation of vehicle. Contact was made with the female driver who was arrested for DWI and careless driving.

9100 block of Lanewood Lane. Report of fraud. Officer made contact and found the victim had not received new credit card and was notified that there were fraudulent charges posted. The incident is under investigation.

12900 Block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found adult male had stolen items from store, he was arrested for theft and trespassed from business.

January 17

Weaver Lake Park. Report of unconscious party in parked vehicle that had crashed into a post. Officer responded and found intoxicated female, who was arrested for DWI.

7200 block of Forestview Lane. Officer on routine patrol noted vehicle parked in lot of business, which was stolen. Contact was made with the suspect, who was arrested for possessing of stolen property, drugs- fifth degree possession, and an outstanding warrant. The female occupant was arrested for fifth degree possession.

8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of property damage. Officer made contact with individual who had found car had been keyed while inside business. The incident is under investigation.

January 18

15300 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found adult female had stolen items. She was arrested for theft and trespassed from the business.

12500 block of 92nd Avenue. Report of suspicious activity. Officer responded and found unknown vehicle had been parked outside of residence for an hour. Contact was made with the driver who provided credentials for a private investigations firm.

6300 block of Wedgewood Road. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found two females had taken merchandise and ran out of the store, and left in a vehicle. Unable to locate suspects.

January 19

I-94 and Highway 610. Officer on routine patrol observed erratic operation of vehicle. Contact was made with the adult female driver was arrested for DWI refusal.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of vehicle theft. Officer responded and found employee’s vehicle had been stolen while at work. The incident is under investigation.
