Burglary, Fraud, Forgery: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Jan. 27-Feb. 2, 2019 in Maple Grove.

January 27 
96th Ave North and Black Oaks Lane. Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver of
vehicle for equipment violation. The adult male was arrested for a warrant.

6500 block of Balsam Lane. Report of fraud. Officer made contact with the victim who had
discovered fraudulent activity on several company credit cards. No suspect information.

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of vehicle theft. Officer responded and found vehicle
stolen from parking lot while victim was at work. The vehicle was recovered in another
jurisdiction. No suspect information.

January 28
9200 block of Xenium Lane. Report of parking complaint. Officer responded and found the
vehicle had been stolen in another jurisdiction. Contact made with the vehicle owner, to
retrieve their vehicle.

16500 block of 96th Avenue. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found a tool set had
been stolen and the suspect left the business in a vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

12400 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of traffic complaint. Officer responded and
located the drivers nearby who admitted to racing around the parking lot. They were verbally warned and released on scene.

11900 block of Central Parkway. Report of noise complaint. Officer made contact with
homeowner who stated they were having a party and would comply with the ordinance.

January 29
13300 block of Maple Knoll Way. Report of theft. Officer made contact with the victim
who stated that a bicycle and two electronic items had been stolen. The incident is under
investigation.

10000 block of 107th Place. Report of fraud. Officer made contact with the victim who
stated her credit card had been used fraudulently in other jurisdictions.

9300 block of Deerwood Lane. Report of customer trouble. Officer responded and
found a disagreement had occurred between multiple males and two of the parties involved were asked to leave. No criminal charges.

January 30
17200 block of 80th Avenue North. Report of neighbor dispute. Officer made contact and found
individual had awoken homeowner by knocking on the door and accusing him of shooting at her dog. Concerns about the incident were addressed with the neighbor was advised to call police in the future.

9800 block of Hospital Drive. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found wallet had
been stolen out of victim’s purse while at work. Subsequent fraudulent credit card activity had occurred. Unable to identify suspect.

9800 block of Fernbrook Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officer responded and found unknown vehicle had driven into parking lot, struck a snow bank and then drove off. Unable to locate.

January 31
16000 block of 92nd Avenue. Report of harassment. Officer responded and found there had been repeated attempts at unwanted communication by an ex-girlfriend. Contact was made and the suspect was informed of the consequences if continued.

11400 block of Fountains Drive. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found victim left phone unattended while shopping and discovered it had been stolen. No suspect information.

8200 block of Vagabond Lane. Report of medical. Officer responded and found adult
female had fallen and injured her head. Paramedics arrived to assist on scene and determined victim was stable and could remain at home.

February 1
13500 block of Grove Drive. Report of intoxicated female parked in fire lane outside
of business who was refused service and now attempting to leave. Officer made contact with
the driver who was arrested for DWI.

9800 block of Maple Grove Parkway. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and
found terminated employee had caused a disturbance and refused to leave. Gone on arrival; advised to call if he returned.

8100 block of Main Street. Report of fire alarm.  Officer arrived and observed water flowing
from an overhead sprinkler head onto a vehicle parked inside an open garage.  Fire department arrived to assist on scene.

February 2
11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of forgery. Officer responded and found male
party had used a counterfeit currency to attempt paying his bill and left the business. 
Staff confronted the remaining members of the party who took care of the charges.

7300 block of Everest Lane. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found set of golf clubs
were stolen overnight from unlocked garage. No suspect information.

11500 block of Fountains Drive. Report of theft. Officer responded and found victim’s driver’s
license had been stolen when left unattended while conducting a transaction with employee at business. No suspect information.
