Osseo Area Schools Educator Named 2019 Minnesota Teacher Of The Year Semifinalist Candidate

Osseo Area Schools educator and Birch Grove Elementary School for the Arts fifth grade teacher  Lucas Staker was recently named as a 2019 Minnesota Teacher of the Year semifinalist candidate, according to Education Minnesota. 

Staker is among 40 of the semifinalist candidates statewide. 

In late March, the panel of judges will review semifinalist video submissions and their portfolios and select 10 finalists. The 2019 Minnesota Teacher of the Year will be announced May 5 at the Saint Paul RiverCentre.

Education Minnesota, the statewide educators union, organizes and underwrites the Teacher of the Year program. Candidates include pre-kindergarten through 12th-grade and Adult Basic Education teachers, from public or private schools.
