Theft from Vehicle, Customer Trouble, Mail Theft: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Feb. 17-23, 2019 in Maple Grove.

February 17
8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded, a cell phone had been stolen and two male suspects fled in a vehicle. The incident is under investigation. 

12900 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of customer trouble. Officer responded, a female had caused a disturbance with her complaints about the business. The woman refused to identify herself, but agreed to leave. No further issues.

9500 block of Blackoaks Lane. Report of suspicious activity. Officer made contact with an individual who noticed unusual function of ATM. Unable to make contact with bank employees but was advised to take precautions. 

February 18
9800 block of 94th Place. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and found three individuals outside of residence who were involved in a property dispute. Assisted and advised.

6800 block of Sunnyslope Drive. Report of welfare check. Officer responded and found individual was concerned about neighbors due to no activity at home for several weeks. Contact made with the residents who stated all was fine.

I-94 and Weaver Lake Road. Report of personal injury accident. Officer responded and found driver of one vehicle involved appeared intoxicated and was arrested for DUI.

February 19
9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and located the suspect, who arrested for theft. 

Elm Creek Boulevard and 89th Avenue. Officer on routine patrol observed equipment violation. Contact made with the driver of the vehicle who was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested.  

February 20
11700 block of Fountains Way. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and found individual had been loitering inside of business and taken beverage without payment. The adult male paid but refused to leave, the male was trespassed. 

14400 block of 96th Avenue. Report of medical. Officer responded and found adult male was having difficulty breathing.  Denied medical attention and following assistance on scene was stable and able to care for himself.

February 21
13500 block of Grove Drive. Report of fight. Officer responded and found two males had been involved in fight. No charges were pursued but one of the individuals was trespassed from the business.

11500 block of Fountains Drive. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found two females had stolen merchandise and left in vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

12700 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found two suitcases containing clothing items were stolen from an unlocked trailer attached to vehicle parked outside of business. No suspect information.
 
17500 block of 96th Avenue. Report of mail theft. Officer made contact and found individual had a package stolen that was confirmed delivered; no suspect information.

February 22
400 block of west Eagle Lake Drive. Report of suspicious activity. Officer responded and found unknown male had knocked on door of residence and was now in vehicle parked outside. Contact was made and it was determined the individual had been sent to the wrong location for a home repair.

February 23
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and the adult female was arrested for theft and trespassed from the store.

9400 block of Deerwood Lane. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and found two adult females, one of which was intoxicated, had been asked to leave the business but would not cooperate.  A ride was arranged and the parties left the scene without further incident.

7800 block of Vinewood Lane. Report of public assist. Officer responded and found individual’s car had been mistakenly towed while he was inside of business. Contact was made with the tow company and arrangements made to return the vehicle.

During this time period there were 20 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
