Burglary, Fraud, Loud Music: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of March 24-30, 2019 in Maple Grove.

March 24
14400 block of Weaver Lake Road. Report of unwanted persons. Officer responded and found several intoxicated individuals were attempting to leave in a vehicle. Advised to call for transportation which was arranged, no further assistance. 

10500 block of Troy Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officer responded and found male occupant was waiting in vehicle outside of business for wife who was in a class. 

March 25
Bass Lake Road and I-494. Officer on routine patrol noted vehicle with expired registration. Contact made with the driver who was arrested for driving after suspension and giving peace officer false name.

11700 block of 95th Avenue. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found three trailers parked outside of business had been broken into overnight, tools and license plates were stolen. The incident is under investigation.

15000 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found individual’s bank checks had been stolen from mailbox and used fraudulently, incident under investigation.

March 26
15300 block of Grove Circle. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and found employee wanted intoxicated male removed from the business. The individual was transported to a nearby location where a friend arrived to provide transportation.

6800 block of Vicksburg Lane. Report of disturbance. Officer responded and found there had been a verbal altercation between two parties involving a disagreement over company policy. Assisted in mediation, no criminal charges.

9500 block of Zachary Lane. Report of suspicious activity. Officer responded and found several males had been seen leaving a construction scene on foot.  They were located nearby in their vehicle and stated they were assigned to the work site and were leaving for the day, no criminal activity.

March 27
11600 block of Arbor Lakes Parkway. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found multiple tools had been stolen from construction site, no suspect information.

11200 block of Fountains Drive. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found multiple items had been stolen from the store and suspect left the scene, the incident is under investigation.

March 28
8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found adult female had stolen an item from the store and walked to nearby vehicle.  The suspect was located and arrested for theft and trespassed from the business.  

Highway 610 and Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of vehicle fire. Officer responded and found truck had rolled and caught fire. The driver was able to escape and was transported to hospital by paramedics for further care.

72nd Avenue North and 72nd Place North. Report of loud music. Officer responded and found group of individuals in hot tub outside of residence listening to music.  Advised of the complaint and parties agreed to comply.

March 29
7700 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of medical. Officer responded and found individual experiencing pain. Paramedics arrived to transport the victim to the hospital for further care.

9200 block of Sycamore Lane. Report of fraud. Officer made contact and found individual had unauthorized withdrawals from bank account. The incident is under investigation.

March 30
93rd Avenue and Zachary Lane. Officer on routine patrol observed equipment violations. Contact made with the driver who was impaired and arrested for DWI.

6200 block of Meadowlark Lane. Report of property damage. Officer responded and found pry marks on deadbolt of residence. No access was gained into the home, extra patrol being provided.

During this time period there were 12 property damage traffic accidents and three property damage injury traffic accidents.
