Burglary, Assault, Mail Theft: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of March 31-April 6, 2019 in Maple Grove.

March 31
  • I-94 and Maple Grove Parkway. Officer on routine patrol observed erratic driving behavior.  Contact made with driver who was arrested for DWI and careless driving.
  • 11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found employee’s sweatshirt, earbuds, and vehicle keys had been stolen. No suspect information.
  • 9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of disorderly conduct. Officer made contact and found unknown male had repeatedly shouted vulgar remarks to female in parking lot of business. Incident under investigation.
April 1
  • 9500 block of Kirkwood Way. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found items had been taken from vehicle and residence. No suspect information.
  • 11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of disorderly conduct. Officer responded and found a group of people had been fighting and throwing items inside the business. They had left the scene in vehicles. No further information available.
  • 9000 block of Garland Lane. Report of mail theft. Officer made contact with victim who reported that a new credit card had been stolen from her mailbox with subsequent fraudulent transactions occurring. No suspect information.
April 2
  • 10200 block of Valley Forge Lane. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found victim’s home had been ransacked following entry through window that had been broken. No apparent loss of property. Incident is under investigation.
  • 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and the adult female was arrested for theft. 
  • Elm Creek Boulevard and Zachary Lane. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle commit a traffic violation. Contact made with driver who was subsequently arrested for DWI, careless driving, and driving after revocation.
April 3
  • 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found adult male had stolen merchandise from store and left in vehicle. Incident is under investigation.
  • 14500 block of 99th Avenue. Report of threats. Officer responded and found two employees had been involved in a verbal altercation.
April 4
  • 9400 block of Fernbrook Lane. Report of noise complaint. Officer made contact with individuals who had been singing and playing music in the park after hours.  Advised of city ordinance and the group cooperated by leaving the scene.
  • 9700 block of 63rd Avenue. Report of vehicle theft. Officer responded and found unlocked vehicle had been parked outside business with key in ignition when it was taken. No suspect information.
  • 7800 block of Maple Hill Road. Report of house fire. Officer responded and assisted on scene along with fire departments. Fire was extinguished and no injuries reported.
April 5
  • I-94 – Officer on routine patrol made contact with driver of vehicle for equipment violation. The adult male was arrested for 5th degree possession.
  • 9600 block of 63rd Avenue. Report of theft. Officer responded and found trailer parked outside business had been stolen. No suspect information.
  • 6300 block of Vinewood Lane. Report of disorderly conduct. Officer made contact and found customer had made threats towards employee at business due to store policy. Unable to locate the suspect.
April 6
  • 200 block of Zanzibar Lane. Report of fight. Officer responded and found two adult females had been involved in a physical altercation following an argument.  One of the individuals was for assault, disorderly conduct, and obstruct legal process.
  • 16500 block of Country Road 30. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found individual’s air pods were stolen from pocket of sweatshirt when left unattended inside of business. No suspect information.
  • I-94 and Weaver Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol conducted traffic stop for violation. The adult male driver of the vehicle showed multiple signs of impairment and was arrested for DWI.
During this time period there were 21 property damage traffic accidents and one property damage injury traffic accident.
