Registration Opens for 2019 Rotary Bed Races

The 12th Annual Rotary Bed Races will once gain take place on Main Street during Maple Grove Days. Registration is open for the 2019 event which 100% of the proceeds from the July 13 race are donated to CROSS Services to help provide beds, bedding and other needs for clients in Maple Grove and northwest suburbs.   

 Racers are judged on time, costume impression and bed design.  Businesses, churches, neighborhoods, individuals and civic organizations have been creative and unique in their designs as they race through the cheering crowds, all while supporting a community cause.  

Monetary prizes offered are $300 first place, $200 second place, and $100 third place with winners having the option to donate winnings to their favorite charity.

Entries need a team of five people - four people pushing the bed and one person riding.  Application and entry fee of $150 per team can be submitted by June 15, 2019.  After that date, the fee is $170.  Bed racers will be encouraged to collect pledges.  Online applications can be found at maplegrovedays.org. By sponsoring this event, the Rotary’s mission is to encourage and foster service in the community.
