Burglary, Animal Issues, Neighbor Trouble: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of June 2-8, 2019 in Maple Grove.

June 2
Hemlock Lane and I-694. Officer on routine patrol observed equipment violation on vehicle. Contact made with the driver who exhibited signs of intoxication and was arrested for DWI.

9200 block of Inland Lane. Report of burglary. Officers responded and found a gaming system had been stolen from residence; the incident is under investigation.

June 3

11800 block of 80th Avenue. Report of a noise complaint. Officers responded and found neighbor had fallen asleep with television playing loudly, agreed to comply with noise ordinance.

10200 block of Union Terrace Lane. Report of animal complaint. Officer made contact and found homeowner had located a duck nest next to his air conditioning unit containing three eggs; advised to contact wildlife management services for assistance.

11300 block of Fountains Drive. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and found individual had returned to attempt solicitation of funds at business despite being told it was not welcome. Gone upon officer’s arrival, advised to call if suspect returns.

June 4

8800 block of Merrimac Lane. Report of suspicious activity.  Officer made contact with the homeowner who had observed a group of young people running through neighborhood who had toilet papered a house. Unable to locate suspects.

6600 block of Empire Court. Report of neighbor trouble. Officer made contact and learned individuals had been involved in a verbal altercation, which became physical. Uncooperative victim who did not wish to pursue charges, advised to refrain from further contact.

6500 block of Annapolis Lane. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found garage door opener had been stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the driveway. No apparent loss and no suspect information.

June 5

89th Avenue and Zinnia Lane. Officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Contact was made with the adult male driver who showed signs of intoxication and was arrested for DWI and possession of drug paraphernalia.

9200 block of Pineview Lane. Report of suspicious activity. Officer responded to call that a vehicle and persons had been observed on business property in early morning hours. Gone on arrival, but staff on site stated that the individuals had been employees in a work vehicle. No further assistance was needed.

9800 block of Cottonwood Lane. Report of damage to property. Officer made contact and found rear lift gate had been pried and broken on vehicle parked in the driveway. No apparent loss and no suspect information.

June 6

12600 block of Arbor Lakes Parkway. Report of welfare check. Officer responded and found male sleeping in truck parked outside of business. There were no issues.

I-94 & Weaver Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle commit a traffic violation. Contact with the adult male driver revealed an outstanding felony warrant for which he was arrested.

11300 block of Fountains Drive. Report of animal complaint. Officer responded and found dog left unattended in vehicle parked outside of business on a hot day. The owner arrived on scene and was explained the dangers and issued a written warning.

June 7

Highway 610 & Hemlock Lane. Report of welfare check. Officer responded and found two females sitting on support pillar for bridge over the highway. They stated they were watching the sunrise, advised regarding safety hazards of which they understood.

9400 block of Lancaster Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officer made contact with the adult male occupant who stated he had parked in a quiet spot to read the newspaper due to having extra time before going to work.

11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of customer trouble. Officer responded and found verbal altercation had occurred between customer and staff at business. The patron left without further issue, and there was no further assistance needed.

June 8

12000 block of 88th Place. Report of noise complaint. Officer made contact and found neighbors had projected a movie onto the side of their residence and a group was outside watching. Advised to keep the volume down, they agreed to comply.

11700 block of Central Park Way. Report of bicycle theft. Officer responded and found two bicycles had been stolen from parking garage.No suspect information.

13600 block of Grove Drive. Report of harassment.  Officer made contact and found individual had received harassing and threatening message over social media. No charges pursued at this time but extra patrol requested.

During this time period there were 31 property damage traffic accidents and one property damage injury traffic accident.
