The Weaver Lake Road retaining wall reconstruction project took another step forward after the Maple Grove City Council reviewed a feasibility study prepared by SRF Consulting Group at the June 3 council meeting.
The project, according to a memo provided to the council, would reconstruct retaining walls along the north side of Weaver Lake Road between Dunkirk and Zanzibar Lanes. The existing walls were built in 1991 as part of the Weaver Lake Road trail project with parts of the wall reconstructed in 1994. They will be replaced by prefabricated modular block walls.
The study concluded that the prefabricated walls will provide the “most economical wall system with more limited construction disruption to the adjacent properties than the cast in place wall option”.
The approximate cost of the project is $883,891, funded by the trunk transportation fund, which the council will consider. SRF Consulting Group will now prepare plans and specifications.
