Disturbance, Vehicle Fire, Theft: Maple Grove Police Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of July 7-13, 2019 in Maple Grove.

July 7 

Elm Creek Boulevard and Revere Lane. Officer on routine patrol made contact with the driver of the vehicle who was found to have an outstanding warrant and was arrested. 

9300 block of Lancaster Lane. Report of disturbance. Officer responded and found three intoxicated adult males involved in a verbal altercation, which had become physical. No charges pursued, and no further issues.

 I-694 and Hemlock Lane. Officer on routine patrol observed erratic driving behavior. Contact was made with the adult male occupant who was subsequently arrested for DWI and careless Driving.

 July 8

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of damage to property. Officer responded and found a group of juveniles had run through business damaging products and left the scene in a vehicle. The incident is under investigation.

Woodlark Way and Gladstone Boulevard. Report of vehicle fire. Officer responded and assisted fire department until flames were extinguished.

12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found two male suspects had entered business and had taken employee’s driver’s license and credit cards. Subsequent fraudulent transactions occurred; the incident is under investigation.

July 9

6800 block of Balsam Lane. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found a book of blank checks had been stolen overnight from unlocked vehicle parked outside of residence, no suspect information.

 12000 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of unwanted person. Officer made contact and found a family had been panhandling near front door of business. Individuals were provided resource information and advised of ordinances, there were no further issues.

16700 block of 94th Avenue. Report of medical. Officer responded and found an adult female had been choking on food inside business and bystander successfully provided emergency aid. The victim was transported to hospital for further care.

July 10

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Officer on routine patrol made contact with lone occupant of the vehicle. The suspect was found to be in possession of multiple narcotics and was arrested for drug possession.

9000 block of Magnolia Lane. Report of 911 hangup. Officer made contact with the resident who stated everything was fine and it possibly occurred due to a phone update since everyone had been sleeping, no assistance needed.

 13600 block of 80th Circle. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found the adult male suspect had stolen a large amount of merchandise and fled in a vehicle. He was arrested for theft and fleeing police.

July 11

10100 block of 85th Avenue. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officer made contact with lone occupant who had been sleeping in van outside of business. The individual stated they were there for deliveries and provided credentials, there were no issues.

7200 block of Forestview Lane. Report of threat. Officer responded and found an adult male had threatened staff at business due to a disagreement and then left the scene. The suspect was advised he was trespassed from the business.

July 12

16500 block of 96th Avenue. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found adult male suspect had stolen merchandise and left business in vehicle, the incident is under investigation.

15800 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found suspect had stolen several items and left in vehicle. The adult male was located nearby and arrested for theft.

17500 block of 72nd Place. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officer made contact with the two occupants who stated they were working on a home nearby which was confirmed, there were no issues.

July 13

I-94 and Highway 610. Report of a vehicle fire. Officer responded and found occupants had escaped to safety and the vehicle was a total loss. Assisted on scene until the fire was extinguished.

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Officer on routine patrol observed vehicle with equipment violation. Contact was made with the adult female driver who indicated signs of intoxication and was arrested for DWI.

8600 block of Pineview Lane. Report of theft. Officer responded and found an adult male had stolen envelope of cash from business and left the scene. Contact was made with the suspect who was arrested for theft and trespassed from the business.
