Property Damage, Identity Theft, Disorderly Conduct: MGPD Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Aug. 11-17, 2019 in Maple Grove.

August 11

East Fish Lake Road & Wedgewood Road. Officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle driving erratically. Contact was made with the adult male driver who indicated signs of intoxication and was arrested for DWI.

16300 block of 96th Avenue. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found a group of males had stolen merchandise from business and left the scene in a vehicle; the incident is under investigation.

16800 block of 79th Place. Report of civil matter. Officer responded and found couple was involved in dispute but nothing physical had occurred. Advised to separate for the remainder of the evening.

 August 12

9100 block of Zanzibar Lane. Report of bicycle theft. Officer responded and found a bicycle had been stolen from garage parking stall; the incident is under investigation.

6800 block of Oakview Lane. Report of fireworks complaint. Officer responded and found individual had lit off fireworks during daylight hours so residents would not be mistaken for gunshots during the night; no further assistance needed.

 12200 block of 88th Place North. Report of missing person. Officer made contact and found individual had left home on a bicycle and was unable to be reached by cell phone. The party was found sleeping inside the residence; there were no issues. 

August 13

8600 block of Blackoaks Lane. Report of tamper with vehicle. Officer responded and found unlocked vehicle had been rummaged through overnight, no apparent loss; no suspect information. 

15400 block of Bass Lake Road. Report of damage to property. Officer responded and found a porta potty had been knocked over and shed door damaged at facility; no suspect information.

16500 block of County Road 30. Report of theft. Officer responded and found cell phone had been stolen from inside the business; the incident is under further investigation 

August 14

6200 Block of Magda Drive. Report of identity theft. Officer made contact and found victim had an account opened in their name with subsequent fraudulent charges; the incident is under investigation.

 9400 block of Dunkirk Lane. Report of disorderly conduct. Officer responded and found two adult females had been involved in a verbal altercation in the parking lot of business; they both apologized and left the scene without further incident. 

15300 block of Grove Circle. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found adult male suspect had left the scene in a vehicle. He was located nearby and subsequently arrested for theft and trespassed from the business. 

August 15

6900 block of Wedgwood Road. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found suspect had broken a window and stolen laptop, cell phone and backpack from vehicle while victim was inside business; no suspect information.

8900 block of Zinnia Lane. Report of identity theft. Officer made contact and found individual had been contacted that her computer was hacked and subsequent fraudulent transactions occurred which were stopped by the bank; no loss and no known suspect.

Grove Circle & Maple Grove Parkway. Report of welfare check. Officer made contact with adult male in vehicle parked alongside roadway who appeared to be asleep. The individual stated he had become tired while travelling and pulled over. No further assistance was needed.

August 16

16300 block of 70th Avenue. Officer on routine patrol responded to an accident wherein the driver hit a tree in the front yard of the residence. Contact with the adult male driver indicated signs of impairment, he was arrested for DWI.

13500 block of 95th Place. Report of theft. Officer responded and found homeowner’s mailbox had been stolen; no suspect information. 

6600 block of Jonquil Court. Report of harassment. Officer responded and found roommates had been involved in a verbal altercation; advised to separate for the evening to which they agreed.

August 17

16500 block of County Road 30. Report of disorderly conduct. Officer responded and found two adult males had been involved in a verbal altercation outside of business and both stated the other had assaulted them. Neither party wished to pursue charges; both individuals left the scene without further incident.

16500 block of 96th Avenue. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found two adult males had stolen merchandise and attempted to leave the scene. Both suspects were  arrested for theft and trespassed from the business 

9400 block of Dunkirk Lane.Report of damage to property. Officer responded and found individual’s car had been keyed while parked outside of business; the incident is under investigation.
