2019 Maple Grove Moments Photography Contest Winners Awarded

The 2019 Maple Grove Moments Photography Contest award winners were recently announced at the Sept. 16 Maple Grove City Council meeting. 

More than 400 photographs were submitted by 100 residents, according to a memo to the city council. The annual contest had five categories community members could submit their entries. Awards were decided by a five-judge panel. The public voted online for their favorite "Viewers' Choice" photo. 

The 2019 Award Winners are, according to the city council memo

Youth
1) Falling – Archit Mishra
2) Just Waiting Patiently – Paige Allen
3) Summer – Aaratrika Mondal

Going Together
1) Little Boy Blue – Gary Rieks
2) Colorful Creations – Tristan Helleen
3) Soccer Stars – Randy Harrison

Going Natural
1) Reflections of fall – Karen McBride-Raffel
2) Beauty of winter mornings – Beth Switajewski
3) A fall tree – Lisa Willey

Going Places
1) Chalking the day away – Shelby Kirshbaum
2) Sisterly summer fun – Greg Schaeffer
3) Fountains of youth – Jessica Hare

Going Wild
1) Good morning to you -- Theodore Jantzen
2) Busted -- Charnell Timms
3) Backyard Coyote – Barb Thompson

"Thank you to all the residents who participated. Once it again, we had a great photography contest and shows the beauty of our city," Mayor Mark Steffenson said.
