Suspicious Person, Burglary, Identity Theft: MGPD Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Sept. 1-7, 2019 in Maple Grove.

September 1

  • 12600 block of Bass Lake Road. Officer on routine patrol observed occupied vehicle parked outside of business that was closed. Contact made with the occupants who exhibited evidence of drug activity; the two adult males were arrested at the scene.  
  • 13500 block of 89th Place. Report of vandalism. Officer responded and found homeowner’s residence had been egged overnight; no suspect information.
  • 12200 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Officer on routine patrol observed traffic violation. Contact made with adult male driver who indicated signs of impairment and was arrested for DWI and Possession of a Controlled Substance. 

September 2 

  • 18000 block of Weaver Lake Drive. Report of disturbance. Officer responded and found homeowner’s doorbell had been rung and individual ran off; unable to locate the suspect.
  • 11000 block of 69th Avenue. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer responded and found multiple items had been stolen overnight from unlocked vehicle parked in driveway; no suspect information.
  • 6400 block of Juneau Lane. Report of medical. Officer responded and found individual experiencing chest pain and difficulty breathing. Offered assistance until paramedics arrived to transport the victim to hospital for further care. 

September 3

  • 9200 block of Hemlock Lane. Officer on routine patrol observed equipment violation; contact made with the adult male driver who exhibited signs of intoxication and was arrested for DWI.
  • 11800 block of Fountains Way. Report of suspicious person. Officer responded and found an unknown male had been loitering around the hotel kitchen. The suspect ran out a back entrance before contact was made; advised to call if he returned

September 4

  • 8100 block of Main Street. Report of damage to property. Officer responded and found two tires had been punctured on vehicle parked outside of business; no suspect information.
  • 12000 block of Arbor Lakes Parkway. Report of identity theft. Officer made contact and found individual had received a large bill for services rendered that was unknown to the victim; the incident is under investigation.
  • 8100 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found an adult female had loaded a cart and left the store without paying. The suspect was located and arrested for theft and trespassed from the business.

September 5

  • 12600 block of Arbor Lakes Parkway. Report of medical. Officer responded and found an adult female had possibly suffered a stroke. Assisted on scene until paramedics arrived to transport victim to hospital for further care. 
  • 12400 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found adult female had stolen several items from the store and left the scene; unable to locate suspect.
  • 11600 block of Fountains Drive. Report of burglary. Officer responded and found door had been pried in attempt to enter business; the incident is under investigation. 

September 6

  • 12600 block of Elm Creek Boulevard. Officer on routine patrol observed a vehicle traveling at high rate of speed. Contact was made with the driver who exhibited signs of impairment and was arrested for DWI and careless driving. 
  • 7200 block of Hemlock Lane. Report of theft from vehicle. Officer made contact and found license plates had been stolen from vehicle parked outside residence; no suspect information.
  • 8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of theft. Officer made contact and found the victim's wallet had been stolen while sitting in a café with subsequent fraudulent transactions occurring; the incident is under further investigation. 

September 7

  • 9200 block of Archer Lane. Report of trespassing. Officer responded and found a couple had set up a camping tent on private property. Advised the individuals to leave the scene to which they complied. 
  • 11600 block of Fountains Drive. Report of suspicious person. Officer made contact with adult female who was standing in the median. She stated she was attempting to solicit food and money and refused any other assistance. 
  • 12700 block of 84th Avenue. Report of animal complaint. Officer responded and found bird had been trapped inside the residence. The bird was captured in a net and let loose outside without injury.
