Burglary, Neighbor Disagreement, Suspicious Vehicle: MGPD Incident Report

A synopsis of some of the incidents responded to by the Maple Grove Police Department during the week of Oct. 13-19, 2019 in Maple Grove.

October 13

8600 block of Interstate 94. Officer on routine patrol made contact with adult male driver due to traffic violation. The suspect indicated signs of intoxication and was arrested for 4th degree DWI and speeding. 

9500 block of Garland Lane. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officer responded and found adult male asleep inside vehicle parked near business; male arrested for an outstanding warrant. 

6200 block of Eagle Lake Drive. Report of neighbor dispute. Officer responded and found there was a disagreement between two individuals regarding removal of a tree from the property; advised regarding the civil matter. 

October 14

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officer responded and found suspect had stolen merchandise and left the scene. The incident is under further investigation. 

Near 64th Avenue & Merrimac Lane. Report of a noise complaint. Officer responded and found two crews were working on residences in the neighborhood with music playing. Advised of complaint and to be mindful, no violation of ordinance found. 

8000 block of Wedgewood Lane. Officers on patrol observed a suspicious vehicle. Contact was made with the adult female who was arrested for an outstanding warrant and shoplifting from nearby business.

October 15

9200 block of Garland Lane. Report of disturbance. Officers responded and found a moving company was transferring furniture, no issues.  

13600 block of Grove Drive. Report of shoplifting. Officers responded and found three adult females had stolen merchandise and left the scene. The incident is under further investigation. 

9400 block off Dunkirk Lane. Officer on routine patrol made contact with adult female driver for an equipment violation.  The suspect was arrested for 5th degree controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and false information to police. 

October 16

13700 block of 83rd Way. Report of suspicious activity. Officers responded and found multiple people were inside the bank after hours due to a construction project, no problems.

8000 block of  Wedgewood Lane. Report of fraud. Officer made contact with victim and found fraudulent transactions had occurred on credit card, the incident is under further investigation.

Near Bass Lake Rd & Wedgwood Road. Report of animal complaint. Officer responded and found injured goose in roadway which was transported to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center for care.

October 17

6900 block of Crest Drive. Report of burglary. Officers responded and found several tools were stolen from homeowner’s garage,  no suspect information. 

11800 block of  80th Avenue. Report of suspicious vehicle. Officers responded and found two adult females were working on arts and crafts from the back of the vehicle, no criminal activity was occurring.

9300 block of  Ranchview Lane. Report of ordinance violation. Officers responded and found outdoor grill in use at residence which was in compliance with safety restrictions and did not pose a fire hazard.  

October 18

17700 block of 83rd Avenue. Report of medical. Officers responded and found individual had fallen from a skateboard. The victim was provided assistance until paramedics arrived to transport him to hospital for further care.

8000 block of  Wedgewood Lane. Report of shoplifting. Officers responded and two adults were arrested for felony shoplifting and possession of shoplifting gear.  

October 19

18000 block of 72nd Place. Report of damage to property. Officers responded and found the toilet paper had been strewn in trees outside of residence, forks planted in yard, and nails, staples, and salt spread on driveway. No suspect information. 

18900 block of  96th Place. Report of unwanted person. Officer responded and found two intoxicated males were outside residence attempting entry. They were safely transported to their nearby residence.

17900 block of  82nd Way. Report of a noise complaint. Officers responded and found there had been a dispute between neighbors regarding vehicle causing a disturbance. Advised regarding ordinance; no further issues.
