The Central Park Ice Skating Loop has opened for the 2019-20 season as of Nov. 15, according to the city of Maple Grove website.

Due to weather conditions, including rain and warmer temperatures, the loop temporarily closed Sunday, Nov. 17, according to the Maple Grove Parks and Recreation Facebook page, but reopened later in the day. Updated weather related information is available at 763-494-5959.

Central Park is located at 12000 Central Park Way.

Ice skating is free, although skate rental is available for adults and children. The loop extends approximately 800 feet around – approximately six laps make up a mile. The loop is "designed for leisure skating (no hockey sticks or pucks)," according to the city.

A concession stand is available with hot chocolate and other items.

Hours are:

Saturday and Sunday, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., skate rentals are available and the Phenow Pavilion and restrooms are open.

Check out the Parks and Recreation website for holiday hours. Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day there are no skate rentals and the Phenow Pavilion and restrooms are closed.
