Maple Grove resident Jack Gilbert, an eighth grader at Osseo Middle School, is appearing in the 'Iron Hearted Violet" production at Stages Theatre Company.

In his first production appearance at Stages, Jack's roles include a farmer and part of the ensemble. He previously appeared two productions with Bunce Backyard and several choirs throughout the north metro.

The production of 'Iron Hearted Violet' is based on the book by Newbery Medal Winner and Minneapolis-based author Kelly Barnhill.

"With a mirrored sky, hidden passageways, dragons and monsters, Iron Hearted Violet is a story about the power of storytelling and friendship," according to a press release from Stages Theatre Company. "A whimsical and exciting tale about a princess saving her kingdom, this adventure is one for the ages."

'Iron Hearted Violet' continues at  Stages Theatre Company through March 22, 2020. It is approximately 60 minutes in length and is recommended for ages 7+.
