A proposed plan presented to the Maple Grove City Council requests removal of the pedestrian mall located in the middle of The Shoppes at Arbor Lakes property and replacing it with a road that will allow traffic to flow through.
“Hosting the event offered an opportunity for the city to showcase the advanced work that is happening in Maple Grove within the health technology industry, along with emphasizing the transportation needs of the community," Maple Grove Mayor Mark Steffenson stated.
Calo and his partner, K-9 Handler Officer Keith Stuart, graduated basic K-9 school
in May and have been assigned to patrol duties since early June.
“Currently, the existing street is a two-lane rural roadway with limited access and usage, maintained jointly by both the City of Maple Grove and the City of Corcoran,” city staff stated in the memo.
The inspection is planned (weather permitting) between 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and last two to three hours.
More than 20 years ago, there was 20-acres of land the city of Maple Grove sought to purchase for forest preservation.
Hennepin County estimates the project should take approximately one week to be completed.
Parnassus Preparatory School and Ave Maria Academy announced closures as well. Heritage Christian Christian Academy announced a delayed start.
